    Inconvénients

    Poor morale, poor leadership team. A lot of ex GSK employees trying to form a sub group within the company. GM is very self focused and will do anything to please European managers. All employees are not treated equally. A lot of back stabbing and politicking goes on.

    - Work from home (although some Astellas business functions oppose of this policy) - Opportunity to work in multiple projects - Modern building (although relocation is imminent autumn 2019)

    - People in HR being promoted left right and centre whilst proven as under/average performers. - Work horses and underrated employees never considered for promotion. - Too many contractors acting as line managers/supervisors. - Contractors serving as line managers providing less than constructive feedback in EOY performance reviews. - After completing LMS training, the global LMS team unexpectedly push extra... training content at short notice to non targeted audiences. We are expected to complete compliance training which is not relevant for our function.

    When I joined years ago Astellas was given a rating of 3.5. Not surprised to see the ratings plummet to 2.6 which is a sad indictment of how this organisation is currently being run and the people that work for them. There is a "If you don't ask, you wont get" culture at Astellas. People in this organisation have been known to fight tool and nail for opportunities or pay increases, and have even threaten to... leave Astellas. Career development is being compromised. Company is losing their main patent so will have to find to generate revenues elsewhere. This means many functions have been outsourced to third party organisations and this will continue with HR.

    Nice office, some great people

    Inconvénients

    Proper bullying culture, some managers should have been fired years ago. Employees that stand up to these bullies are usually got rid of before long. HR never do anything to stop this behaviour for fear of grievance issues. I would steer clear of this company at all costs.

    Cars are tracked - and yes that is used to track you against your schedule and you will be questioned if it doesn't match The process is more important - you can be the best at your job and bring in the most sales but if you don't do it their way you will only be chastised. No trust in employees - too much focus on measures car tracker, sales aid tracker, have to plan your time on territory a week or two in... advance and all of this information is reviewed to see if you are doing your job. No autonomy - "it's your business, run it how you see fit" is what you will hear but not what you will be doing. With the structure of the process they have really removed the ability to be proactive on your territory. Everything has to be planned a week in advance and if you stray you better let your manager know and update your territory plan otherwise you will be questioned on why you decided to what you saw fit. Make a lot of development promises but don't follow through. Do as you are told stick to all the measures and trackers and you might be able to get by. Massive divide between salesforce and head office - head office staff tend to think the sales force is lazy and bad at what they do.

    Trust your employees to do their job if the sales are on target or above then don't question their every move. The proof is in the pudding. Have your employees back and support them don't just stick to the strategy from higher management when you see it's ineffective to the moral of your team. Bottom line is if the sales are good and the market shares are increasing it means patients are getting the medication... that they need. That is all that should matter we do this job to make sure the patients get the best treatment and that in turn makes us money so we can have the resource to carry on making medication available to patients. That is what matters.
