    Avantages

    international atmosphere, employees get along very well, interesting projects (on the surface)

    Inconvénients

    - no sustainable design at all - management does not know who to treat people, social intercourse of the management is terrible, they talk a lot (one could say they like hearing themselves talking) but no actions, unfortunatelly the tone sometimes is absolutely inappropriate - no appreciation - most people are totally underpaid (of course we talk about that, although you try to prevent that. Why do you do anyways.....?!) - office space is a mess (they prefer to spend as little money as possible on the rent. Defective furniture and fixtures) - management does not "lead" or "conduct" the people, they prefer to "rule".. and they are incorrigible - problems are not tried to be solved - managment prefers to whitewash and sit them out - stop making up stories why people supposedly leave the company - by the end of the day it has been always the same reasons in the past 2-3 years.

    - treat your people as they deserve, they the most valuable you have (and keep loosing) - listen to what people say.. and take responsibility and action - do not just talk - act! - stop lying to YOUR people! They are not stupid. - arbitrary pride makes things worse usually - be honest and self-critical - devide areas of responsibility of the management more clearly (it does not help to take decisions if you... have 5 different opinions from 5 people who claim to be the decision makers) - work together (!) with your employees - support your employees in their development, promote their skills and abilities - don't just pretend you do - top manager at the location should not do their own thing - you are part of the team - integrate! If you don't want to integrate: pass some responsibilty to other people and make cleare who is in charge of what and make that more transparent - take a look at the market and other offices and do not just claim to know what's going on "out there"

    Modern open plan office located on the 16th floor Penthouse in Downtown LA. Vibrant and Diverse relatively young team (Avg. age <40) Challenging complex projects in the US and internationally

    Inconvénients

    Driving to downtown can be slow at certain times of the day but luckily public transport is constantly improving and expanding.

    Avantages

    Interesting projects, young people are encouraged to run with them, very cheap and good healthcare. Possibly a good place to learn if you are lucky enough to work under the right people on the right projects, very laid back

    Inconvénients

    Partners could not care less about who you are unless you are their favorite, nobody from HR stays more than 3 months, one of the higher turn over rates in New York, no upward mobility, not a place where talent is recognized or appreciated, misguided staffing practices leading to random firing, promotion via brown nosing

    The UK should come in fire all of the partners and start a new. Otherwise the on going cycle of people in and people out will continue.

    Avantages

    Good environment for innovative thinking, good project exposure for experienced professionals, love for you, if you manage to save money for them.

    Inconvénients

    RUDE HR, MANAGEMENT CAN BE ROUGH !, usually experienced professionals tend to harsh but soften if you know some thing they don't know, last minute work which burdens the entire company, worst pay for a company of its size.

    Avantages

    A friendly environment with an understanding that contract staff are not a miserable underclass of overpaid 'bums on seats' but can actually add value to projects.

    Inconvénients

    Mid-level management are not always up to the task of running projects. This realizes as late delivery of incomplete information which tarnishes the name of a truly great company.

    Avantages

    Three weeks of vacation standard. At Buro Happold, you work on some of the most interesting projects in the field. Opportunities to go abroad as well.

    Inconvénients

    The pay at Buro Happold does not really compete with the rest of the field. Although the projects are interesting, there is little recognition of a job well done. They expect employees to work well more then 40 hours a week.

    Although management tries to "get in touch" with the common workers at the office, there is a large gap between what the employees need and want, and the actions of the management. Morale would increase with only a small amount of effort and resources.
