    Avantages

    As call center jobs go, this was one of the better ones. Dealing with people nonstop is draining and I felt (before current management) that there was an actual understanding of what the job is like. Current management at the time of my departure was starting to tick towards micromanagement but that never succeeds for long.

    Inconvénients

    As careers go, this is going nowhere fast. The staffing ratios are such that only the top 2 %, out of about 800, have a realistic chance at getting promoted. If you don't want to wait in line, it can be frustrating, so you really have to enjoy the job, and I've never met anybody who aspired to work in a call center and loves the job.

    You can always tell when a call center manager graduated straight from college to management without having to work a real job, and they always succeed in the short term and harm the company, and the employees, in the long term. And then you want to go back to management that worked their way up and knew what they were doing, and you can't because they're long gone, and now you have to pay them twice as much to come... back.

    Though the benefits are good, they are expensive.

    Provide local departments with budget to support local community efforts. The company tends to believe that just providing better service for a good price point is good enough along with their corporate community sponsored initiatives but a lot of times those initiatives don't impact all the local communities they service and that does not help with having a good reputation.

    Has loads of budget. You can work and learn a lot in very short span.

    Inconvénients

    Very unorganised. We hardly had any meetings to plan. Under staffed. Most of the budget is going to get new devices and licenses instead of hiring more resources.

    Workflow and work processes are out of line from the reality on the phone and there is no opportunity for agents to make changes to workflow or work procedures to provide better quality customer experience

    Avantages

    Good Pay - The pay and the benefits are great. Work mates - Work with a great bunch of people, I couldn't ask for a better crew.

    Inconvénients

    No on-call pay - You are on call for 7 days, 63 hrs straight on the weekends for no additional pay or comp time. Dress code - You are required to wear business attire even though you only see you own work mates everyday. No work from home policy - Charter has a 1980's no work from home policy, you are required to be in the office everyday even though the entire job can be done from anywhere you have internet... access. Internal processes - The internal processes make it hard to get anything accomplished, they seem more concerned with the process than getting the job at hand done.

    Take a look at your internal processes, and get them stream lined. Company seems to be stuck in the 1980's with the dress code and the no work from home policy. People tend to be more productive when they are comfortable in their work environment.
