    Avantages

    The company gives great support and is willing to invest in technology and resources to help you to be successful. Competitive salary, good staff benefits and annual leaves (one of the most in the recruitment market). Nicely located in CBD.

    Inconvénients

    Turnover would be on the higher side. Perhaps more stringent processes could be in place when hiring.

    Conseils à la direction

    Generally turnover does dip the morale of the office. Perhaps having a better exit strategy for leavers might be a win win situation.

    Avantages

    Nice view of the water from the office balcony, which can be nice to have from time to time

    Inconvénients

    Very poor leadership and management
    Unsurprisingly staff turnover the highest I have seen
    Many unhappy employees which drags down morale
    I became very unhappy a a result of this.

    Try to remember that people that work for you have feelings. Stop treating so many of us like numbers.

    Avantages

    I’m a current employee at Charterhouse and have enjoyed a successful career here over the past 4 years. I’m lucky enough to work with high calibre and high performing consultants and managers and feel like I’ve had the support and recognition from my manager for my efforts.

    Our reward schemes and incentives are excellent which constantly motivates me, my team and the business. We all know that recruitment has its ups and downs but Charterhouse is as strong and exciting as it’s ever been.

    I’m excited about my future here – there’s so many positive things happening across the entire business which is all down to the direction and vision of the CEO. Our CEO is a hands-on/ex-recruiter himself so he has more insight, value to add and understanding day-to-day – which is really driving the business to places it’s never been before. There are over 40+ live projects underway as I write this and the entire business has been invited to participate. Our Group HR Manager has rebuilt our back office, redesigning policies and procedures and quite frankly doing a phenomenal job for the whole business. She is heavily invested in Charterhouse employee welfare, staff professional development, staff benefits and she engages with the entire business every day.

    Our career plan is clearly defined and our commission models are easy to understand and achieve. This month alone we’ve celebrated 3 promotions across our commercial, medical and Melbourne businesses. (Not just big billers and over promotion for retention – these consultants deserve the recognition for their efforts and contribution to the business. Had work does pay off) There’s a real buzz and energy here and it’s great to feel part of a united company – it’s professional but still with the social fun side of recruitment, which we all like.

    The next 2 months are even more exciting so watch this space. I feel very happy and settled here. Sponsorship, visa’s and PR are NEVER questioned and the business is happy to support any employee that wants this.

    Inconvénients

    At this moment in time there’s so much good happening it’s hard to drill down on anything negative that’s worth mentioning. Things are changing! We’ve invited to provide feedback and the business listens.

    ***I wanted to respond to the below recurring accusations publicly as there is no way these comments are coming from an internal employee as it completely contradicts everything that is happening in the business right now – these make no sense at all. If I was that unhappy in my job – I’d speak to my manager or find alternative employment.

    Avantages

    I am a current employee. Having ridden the peaks and troughs the company has been through in recent years, I can confidently say that the Charterhouse I work in right now is the best it has ever been.

    Our MD is leading with confidence and passion, giving clear direction and shaking off the negativity that some former employees may have felt.

    The HR Manager is EXCELLENT!!!!! She has implemented some fantastic structure and I can already see the positive change it has brought (and this is just the beginning). There is a clear career path for everyone now, and the right process in place to support people at all levels.

    The company is investing in training and development, we have a new commission model, we are reinventing the brand, the list of pros goes on and on at the moment.

    Obviously, still the great incentives and yes we still have the best balcony in Sydney.

    Inconvénients

    It’s still recruitment, so it’s still really hard work! I feel that everyone is supported and really has the opportunity to reach their full potential here.

    The Directors need to keep pushing forward with all of the projects that are being rolled out. They are making a huge difference to everyone on a billing desk, and to the support team.

    Avantages

    Good team spirit and no crazy management - people are genuinely nice, no backstabbing
    Transparent commission structure - has been improved for big billers recently
    Good internal career opportunities - geographically and functionally
    5 weeks of annual leaves and current efforts being made around HR and other benefits

    Inconvénients

    Not very competitive commission structure
    Lack of training for juniors

    New CEO has bring a HR function and changing the business to go back to more healthy basics and more transparency. Also listening more to what the staff wants . Keep promoting internal mobility and working on proper HR processes and additional benefits and put in place as announced a training program especially for juniors, it should bring good results in the next 6/12 months.

    Where to begin...
    Even though the company tells you that they have just gone through major changes for the better, still nothing seems like it’s changed. Working there was a joke as well as a combination of micro management, high staff turnover, terrible commission structure and bad working environment. I was missfortunate enough to be pususaded over from the Uk where I was treated like just a number. Do your research before joining a company such as this.
    Also, I actually saw HR write reviews on here to better the company name!

    - Reading the reviews of previous or 'current' employees is always amusing. Despite trying to belittle their current or ex employees they are showing a great deal of bitterness for reasons that are unfounded. As a current employee who isnt actually in management I can honestly say and work out which reviews are from who and the reasons for them. Whether they are disgruntled ex senior staff that have been unbelievably unprofessional or staff members that just couldn't cut it.

    Anyone who has a pop at the culture I really do not understand as it is a great bunch of people that work here. For the people that are leaving negative reviews I also find it amazing that they obscure their identity. Could be a little more forthcoming.

    Avantages

    Only two pros to working for this business
    - Amazing office views
    - A lot of other recruiters which can be a lot of fun

    Inconvénients

    WHERE TO BEGIN
    - Some of the Glassdoor reviews are actively written by current management to help them attract new recruiters
    - No HR function, read some of the reviews below to understand why this is an issue
    - Awful comms structure + issues with receiving full payment of monies owed - this company literally tries to screw you over at every turn
    - No onboarding process for new employees, literally given a sheet with your logins and told to get on with it - they don't even have a manual on the CRM
    - High turnover of staff
    - Negative environment, definitely a political business with plenty of staff members both senior and junior stabbed in the back
    - Mistreatment of staff on visas - overseas recruiters can definitely find much better businesses to join

    Take a long hard look at yourself and ask if you're really a manager to begin with.
    - Invest in training staff
    - Treat people like human beings and not money machines
    - Stop lying to future employees about company culture

    * Managing director had 0 experience of recruitment before this role and so offered little/wrong advice
    *Managing director did not know how to manage staff and would constantly lie about competition
