    Great chance to talk to customers and become a part of the community

    -Management just doesnt care -You are always wrong -When you are asked to work overtime, and find later on your schedule has been changed to set you in on that time, so you dont get overtime pay -6-8 hours on a till only is a joke Especially when there is no seat to sit down. -Getting a review and getting "Bellow Standard" because you are slow at stocking shelves, when all you ever do is be on till.     Avantages

    Can sometimes have a great team and few rare excellent managers do exist

    Inconvénients

    Unsociable hours, rota'd shifts so very hard to plan your life outside of work. Some managers are awful and make you hate your job

    Change to set shift and a lot less people will leave, also hire managers that are good with people not those who couldn't care less about the happiness of their staff

    Worked with some great people over the years. Management fair when changing shifts/booking holidays etc Management approachable Good atmosphere/lots of regular customers

    Inconvénients

    Discount could be better for convenience store price band Area manager arrogant, doesn't even acknowledge staff, only management. The amount of waste thrown away each night is disgraceful.

    Seriously sort out the waste issue, it is horrifying!!!!. I am so close to taking a photograph of the bags of waste and sending it to the newspapers. For such an 'ethical' company it is sickening. It can be given to food banks/homeless etc

    Avantages

    Good pay for under 25s Relaxed atmosphere If you do the work and are nice to managers generally a good experience Good for part time work with college or school Flexible shift patterns Good at giving training or help when progressing or stuck Worked in 3 store and found most of management to be enthusiastic and easy to work with Shifts can be good fun with the right people

    Inconvénients

    Where stores are short staffed you get late notice for shift cover. Small stores have more work per colleague as there is less staff on per shift. Depending on the supervisor/manager you are in with you can either know exactly what you are doing or be a little lost and not have much to do at tills. Due to the rebrand and how disorganised the overall company is some managers have become dissatisfied with their jobs

    I worked as a CTM for years at the Co-op food. When the shop was run well under effective management it was great, we could all complete our jobs but still enjoy, having a laugh along the way with both colleagues and customers alike.
