    Inconvénients

    Columbus, Indiana is a hard pill to swallow. The location of the HQ is the main downside. The company is awesome otherwise!

    Avantages

    Good company if you get connected with a growing department . My managers were mindful of the need for work / life balance, as long as you got the job done. It is best to change jobs every 2 - years.

    Inconvénients

    The liberal values of the top management are forced down through the ranks. If you have more conservative values, you may find your self at odds with company policy. Diversity for the sake of diversity sometimes seems to be a higher priority than product quality, cost and performance.

    Avantages

    Great values and work life balance. People care about their colleagues and communities. It makes it for a comfortable working environment. There is no time-card mentality and it is all about your performance. Individual development is strongly advised and the company will help you grow.

    Inconvénients

    Bureaucracy. Process process process. Things are not fast. Company is falling behind and is becoming a fast follower (or worse) due to high risk aversion. Too many lay-offs: In the last 5 years there have been 2 major corporate wide reductions in force.     Avantages

    Good work-life balance, good people, strong focus on ethics, decent pay. The company is also trending toward being more transparent, which is good.

    Inconvénients

    Like any big ship, it takes a while to turn it. Biggest issues relate to how long it takes to get products through development. There is also too much emphasis on Six Sigma (at a non-production level). Also, some reduction in force has happened almost every year for the past several, yet the company continues to repurchase shares of stock.

    Avantages

    good for people with specific diversities & worst for rest of the pack. If you are one of those protected diversities you can climb the ladder very fast. I have seen people getting elevated to VP position just because of being X or Y . and Company takes pride in fluanting diversity awards than poor performance of leadership that is interested in showing wrong forecasts to Wall Street & then blame on Markets

    Inconvénients

    - Company is in search of Strategy and Employees in getting out of tr sinking Ship - Poor vision -Leadership talk & talk & talks about values without performing but still gets away without stick -Blind HR -Slow speed to maket. Engineering takes forever to take the product to market & when it comes it reflects poor quality -Politics. Stick as a personal servant to leadership and you will become director

    Avantages

    the engine division is still profitable and stays ahead of competition. very diverse in product portfolio and markets served. senior leadership knows how to make balance sheet pretty to please wall st.

    Inconvénients

    red tapes everywhere. bureaucracy. large group of mediocre or even incompetent middle management. efficiency can double if you fire half of them. relatively lower pay compared to industry average. sneaky and powerful human resource department makes you wonder who is really running the company.

    6 Sigma is an open secrete in the company that everybody knows it stinks but everybody pretends to love it. you know the quality of employee if low cost labor is your human resource strategy.
