    Benefits are awesome! Each division is ran differently Pay is competitive

    Inconvénients

    There can be a lot of politics within the company, that also dictates who is promoted Management doesn't always value the people they have Depending on job, the job can run you into the ground.

    Avantages

    I work alongside some great people that make the daily grind more bearable.

    Inconvénients

    I also work along side some of the most incompetent and lazy people I’ve ever known bit of course management does not want to deal with confrontation. No room for advancement unless you are in with the right group (if you know what I mean). They recently fired the only minority female in a management role and now there are a handful of newly appointed VP titles to the people of a similar complexion.

    Start with actually doing their jobs would be great. Nothing gets addressed until it is going to affect a VP’s daily routine. Actually learn what your employees do and rid of the dead weight?

    Family oriented environment. Flexible schedules and GREAT benefits.

    Inconvénients

    Management puts the wrong people into higher positions. Alot of gossiping and drama behind the scenes. Environment has changed within last year. Success is getting to people's heads.

    Stop putting people in management just because the suck up to you. Reward those that work hard and don't beg for a pat on the back or popularity

    D.R. Horton will always have inventory for you to sell. Having the largest home builder in the U.S. behind you give you a lot of confidence that there will always be opportunistic and communities to sell in. They let you sell your own way and are really laid back, and most of the time will work with you to get a deal under contract. Medical and other company benefits are fantastic. Chances for vacations and other prizes...

    Inconvénients

    No base pay, not even a draw. If I don't sell, I starve. No real training for new agents. Their Jr. program isn't a terrible idea, but the people that "train" you don't have your best interest at heart. No real support from the company. If you don't sell, oh well.

    The pride of working for DR Horton's big name.

    Inconvénients

    They expect the Sales Representatives to work full time with zero base pay or financial compensation. In the event a sale is not made, you still do not even receive a stipend for your efforts, even though you have been working full time for months. They do not tell you how long it takes to actually receive your first pay check. Expect to not be compensated for at least 3 months after you start even if you make a sale....

    Avantages

    I learned a lot about the home building process. I only had to work a few Saturdays a year and was only slightly busier at month-end close time (maybe 45-55 hours for 1-2 weeks).

    Inconvénients

    Most everything. The PTO is terrible (2 weeks and cant use sick days as PTO), the insurance was only decent until you have been there two years then it gets better and the cost for STD was high. What was presented as "flexibility" in the interview never came true. If you like to come to work, talk to no one, get your job done & leave then maybe you will love it here. The "team" dynamics are essentially non-existent....

      Full view of the accounting cycle with regards to Accounts Payable Monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet review completed by all accountants after month-end (great place for young accountants to get a real world view of financial statements)

      Inconvénients

      Horrible work-life balance Minimal to no guidance from upper management Poor leadership skills Training is non-existent Typical "over-worked and under payed" corporate culture
