    Avantages

    Great office space, love the culture, innovative for it's market segment, great CEO & great management team, cares about its employees. Have CEO lunches that all employees may attend.

    Inconvénients

    Can't work remotely, high turnover in accounting, long commute to work.

    Avantages

    Amazing culture, friendly people. Managers are really friendly and seems to care about your well being.

    Inconvénients

    Salary is too low for the amount of work you are required to do. This job is not for someone who have a family and wants to live comfortably. There seems to be little to no room, for salary or career advancement.

    Pay your employer fairly, i believe they would feel more valued if they are compensated properly.

    Avantages

    Set schedule, no working nights required. Great team work envrioment. Many offices are closed or limited hours on Sundays.

    Inconvénients

    Some customers are very rude, but that happens with a customer service job.

    I read all the info here. I Have been in Retail for many years. I have seen it all. The hours are great compared to other jobs. Just know if you are committed Extra Storage is committed to you. No one wants to flip burgers all their life.

    Avantages

    Everyone works as team. From DM down everyone has common goals. Great work life balance. Most employees really care about their job, and have fun at work

    Inconvénients

    Really cannot think of many cons. Only thing is sometimes when new technology is rolled out, it doesn't go smoothly.

    Avantages

    Great benefits, great work life balance. The job is fantastic really. Great mix of outside work and office/administrative work.

    Inconvénients

    Lot of pressure to hit certain sales metrics. That's anywhere though really. They push us very hard for insurance sales.

    Avantages

    The Executive leadership is top notch. Most departments were well-run and worked well with others. The office space is nice and modern. The best quality while I was there was that everyone was approachable.

    Inconvénients

    Treasury dept is poorly run. Stay away from that group. The good competent employees are disparaged while the incompetent workers are rewarded. This has been a problem for about 13 years. Solely attributed to bad management.

    Treasury/Risk department has issues. Seriously, get it together and clean up that dept. Hot mess.

    Avantages

    The company is wonderful. Strong growing leader in a multibillion dollar industry, very flexible time, reimbursement for travel and a great hourly rate that makes you feel valued.

    Inconvénients

    Messy units, disrespectful tenants and the maintenance. The only downsides come from clientele and not the company. Luckily you have a strong team to help you survive.

    Avantages

    Corporate Company with family atmosphere. Great benefit package, Paid time off, awesome management and leadership team. Co workers are awesome. Meeting new people and not micro managed. I really enjoy a fact that corporate asks for our feed back and actually listens to any suggestions and ideas we have.

    Inconvénients

    With the 5 years being part of the ESS Team I haven’t came across one con towards this company. If I would have to pick something i would like to see memorial and labor day added as a paid off holiday. But that is really a suggestion. Not a con

    Avantages

    Onsite apartment is a big plus if you can get one now. The pay is minimal, but if you were gifted with a model's body, you are automatically at a higher rate than someone who's been with the company 5 years. So stay on top of your fitness. I would say not micro managed, but your are micro managed from afar. I would be nice if they could recognize quality employees and be an advocate for them. This company seems to be taking more and more from their employees every year. Profits continue to go up and cut backs and incentives opportunities are slim to none.

    Inconvénients

    Each year we hear how we've "made another record year for the 10th year running, Good job. Next year DO IT BETTER". They even made a desktop background with bold red all caps DO IT BETTER and had to have that on every computer. We are rewarded with an annual $100 for managers, and $50 for assistant managers (not promised by corporate either) while ESS makes millions upon millions.
          I believed this company cared about its employees when I first started, and now see past the facade and realize that you all are just money hungry. You will say what you have to to keep your dedicated employees thirsty for another pat on the head while you blow our wants and needs off like the crumbs from lunch on your shirt. the new CEO, Joseph Margolis, decided that company-wide every store manager is required to work on Mondays and Saturdays because those are the busiest days... Corporate is never available to speak with on Saturdays, and they should hold themselves to that same standard and be required to work Mondays and Saturdays with the people that are making their paychecks. One of the internal company goals is "Make Extra Space a Great Place to Work" and this has greatly gone against that. Not only am I not allowed to have a 2 day weekend, but now, it is given to the assistant managers. Thanks for the gut-punch, Joe. We who work our butts off for you, and just because you want to "make your mark" you have hurt every manager working for you.

    Try to avoid skirting the edge of legality on every action you make.
    Realize how much your employees do for you... that car in your driveway, the roof over your head... literally came from our blood, sweat, and tears. This isn't the easiest customer base and industry. Stop smiling to our faces and saying good job, then stabbing us in the back when it makes your bottom line look better.
