Je travaille chez F5 Networks à plein temps (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

    - Because it is a mid-sized company, there isn't a lot of red tape or processes to adhere to.
    - Things that took years at my previous company take a matter of weeks. When you have no barriers or lack of buy-in to slow you down, you can easily move at warp speed. The only challenge becomes prioritizing and sequencing.
    - I used to use the words "kind" and "nice" interchangeably. Coming to F5, I see the difference. Anyone can be nice on the surface, but not everyone can be kind. Kind is inherent and I see a genuine kindness to almost everyone I have come in contact with at F5.
    - There is definitely a focus on inclusion and I appreciate that the company is moving in the right direction. Seems to have authentic buy-in at the top. I started a year ago and have seen the following that supports an inclusive workplace:
    1) unconscious bias and inclusive leadership training
    2) launched the F5 behaviors that includes making a more diverse and inclusive F5. And these are not just behaviors they talk about, but they are also on performance reviews and recognized in our employee recognition program.
    3) freedom to flex...a program that promotes flexible work schedules
    4) expanding recruting efforts to a more diverse talent pool
    5) increased commitment to corporate giving and volunteering
    6) putting 'Belonging' on the company scorecard and taking action to improve our sense of belonging.

The negative comments on this site are not wide spread issues. I am not discounting the comments. I am just saying that has not been my experience.

    - It's an exciting time to be at F5 as it goes through a very cool, much needed transformation. The acquisition of NGINX will propel us forward far more quickly than we could have done it by ourselves. We are on the cutting edge of something awesome!

    Inconvénients

    - Not enough processes. They operate as if they are a small start up and they would benefit greatly from creating processes.
    - Needs more collaboration amongst employees/departments. A lot of silos and duplication of efforts.

J'ai travaillé chez F5 Networks à temps plein (Plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

Great team, great security solutions, pay was above average

    Inconvénients

Company is behind the curve on the cloud. Little to no coordination between marketing and sales. No coordinated marketing collateral. On your own...

Je travaille chez F5 Networks à plein temps (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

The benefits are good. You can move around the company if you get bored. Lots of exciting projects.

    Inconvénients

Way too many directors that are not very useful. The middle mgmt is out of control. It is normal to be in a meeting with directors and no one able to make a decision.

The company has a serious issue with miniorities. Women working the same amount of time as men are not promoted as the same rate. Men are automatically put in mgmt roles without interviews or allowing women to apply. The rate of women in mgmt is pathetic.

    Conseils à la direction

    Stop men promoting to mgmt...

J'ai travaillé chez F5 Networks à temps plein (Plus de 5 ans)

    Avantages

Career path (in some cases), compensation, product, teamwork. Customer traction is fantastic.

    Inconvénients

Career Path, at some point you might get locked in

    Conseils à la direction

Mgmt has changed since I left. But was good, and seems like they are still very highly profiled in their employer branding.

    Avantages

    Inconvénients

F5 has been behind in adapting to changes in the industry but with our CEO we are heading in the right direction and are catching up and will soon surpass the competition with our products and the soon to be finalized acquisition of NGINX

Je travaille chez F5 Networks à plein temps (Plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

Great Salary, good benefit, technology leader, great work / life balance

    Inconvénients

    Middle management (below VP), horrendous.
A very clique company, the Israel team is based of original M&A team acquired > 10 years ago.
Most development teams work together to hide caveats from upper management.
Criticism is never accepted, it's my way or the highway

    Conseils à la direction

Replace middle management, build a clear strategy where the company is going.

    Avantages

Competitive salary and benefits, progressive corporate culture

    Inconvénients

The company has grown rapidly the past few years and the corporate culture is rapidly changing as well, to a less personal and more closed culture

    Conseils à la direction

While looking to the future, don't forget where you came from
