    Avantages

Cool office environment, smart people who work hard, offices in London, Toronto and Las Vegas, its growing. Great opportunity for someone to learn and start a career. Great stepping stone.

    Inconvénients

Toxic environment of over worked and underpaid staff, leadership is reactive not proactive, old school thinking and need to change that mentality or they will continue to loose very smart people who are integral to their teams success.

Je travaille chez Info-Tech Research Group à plein temps (Pendant plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

You'll work with a very bright and talented group of people
Events by their ministry of fun are top notch in Toronto - great informal culture
Lots of learning and growth opportunities (not always managed in a systematic way though)

    Inconvénients

Constant change that is rarely managed well
Tends to do a one size fits all approach for employees ( example: expects senior research directors to individually make reports and slide decks by themselves with no junior support... expects people with 30+ years of consulting experience to be slide monkeys?!)

    Conseils à la direction

Capitalize on the informal culture to tighten employee ties, manage change better, create meaningful differentiation of employee roles - especially in advisory and research

Je travaille chez Info-Tech Research Group à plein temps (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

Great modern offices in Toronto and London (Ontario).
Relaxed dynamic environment, no dress code (for devs at least).
Many fun events throughout the year.
Most development is based on Rails but if you are the right fit they'll let you learn Rails on the job (you still need relevant experience with other technologies).
In general it feels good to work there.

    Inconvénients

Benefits are average. Can't think of anything else.

    Conseils à la direction

    Upgrade benefits.

    Point de vue négatif

J'ai travaillé chez Info-Tech Research Group en Contrat Permanent

    Avantages

    Unfortunately only the convenient location

    Inconvénients

Limited growth of the business, very few active clients exist even after being in business for several years, inexperienced and out-of-touch leadership, lack of concern for team engagement in sales, turnover of valuable team members in various departments, lack of customer focus. The lack of customer focus is most evident in the way the ongoing and increasing number of issues clients are having with their services are ignored.

    Conseils à la direction

Switch up leadership to help prevent issues with turnover, focus on the customer first

    Avantages

    Senior management is incredibly supportive
Lots of opportunity for vertical movement
    Never a dull day
    No micromanagement

    Inconvénients

Knowledge gap between juniors and seniors is noticeable

    Conseils à la direction

Keep listening to your employees - they know better than anyone the shortfalls of an organization and can prove to be valuable assets in improving the worklife of everyone.

Je travaille chez Info-Tech Research Group à plein temps (Pendant plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

I can truthfully say that like and respect everyone I work with. There's a great culture of getting things done and support throughout. In addition, there's a strong focus on work-life balance. You receive the benefits and support of a mid-size company without a lot of bureaucracy, and instead an entrepreneurial spirit.

    Inconvénients

Some growing pains as the employee base expands and matures. There is a need for overall process improvement. A lot of innovation and changes, which can be both good and bad.

    Conseils à la direction

Avoid the tendency towards becoming overly concerned with "how things should be done". Instead, create employee-focused processes and systems. We are at the edge of becoming bogged down by red tape and losing out small company culture which is really valuable. Finding ways to accomplish our goals while bringing people together and not siloing departments is key.

Je travaille chez Info-Tech Research Group à plein temps

    Avantages

Direct access to the leadership team (Director - SVP level)
Fast pace, new projects all the time
Fun is mandatory (see cons for the flip side of this)

    Inconvénients

Strategy is unclear and changes on a whim
Resourcing is always a challenge - there is never enough talent
Pay is low for what is expected, and there are no additional financial benefits (no RRSP match, pension, profit sharing, stock purchase plan, or incentive pay (outside sales)
Mandatory fun implies a great culture on the surface, but underneath people want stronger leadership and direction, not another after work party

    Conseils à la direction

Build out a 5 year strategy and share with with the employees, including annual objectives. Then evaluate your talent needs and resource accordingly. Elevate your pay structure and offer financial benefits. Focus on a culture of communication, collaboration and accountability.
