Whoever loves to profit of the company money and is willing to either sell themselves or to be an ass kisser has a future there, Besides working for L’Oreal has a toll, hereunder some exemples: are you willing to give your hair(watch at all the bald people working there ! I could have never believed saying this, but I have seen young people around 30-35 getting very bald in 6 months), Anorexic people that sometimes are open about it. Again my reference to the Netflix series, did you see the comment “does it look very jewish”? Well I have heard several comments saying “not to offend” but this is “chinoiseries” in front of employees with chinese heritage, among others racial comments (you should shut up and make like you don’t listen, because one thing is being politically correct and other is really being inclusive by default) I cannot tell more but I’ve never seen that mix of people before, and that shocked me deeply. Every subject strategy is marketing based, let’s say mental health, bully culture is encouraged as it is part of the managers dna and throwing bullshit about whichever colleague is not in the office that day is a common activity. What would be the company approach? let’s make a video and display it on the company screens so the issue is solved. Now let’s take a look on company processes, you might say the closest distance between point A & B is a straight line, well in L’Oreal the strategy is to add 50 stakeholders in that line, give them a mail, make them use a mountain of software specific just to L’oréal & make them believe that the more mails you sent the more productive you look( For those who know how to calculate number of interactions among individuals we have 1225 communication channels), make them fight each with supplier about 1000€ to save a week on delivery of the launching, ( a training for fighting is given for free everyday in their super under dimensioned cantines) and then boom put all the pieces together so you get a pretty nice picture of how life is there. Personally I’m leaving the company as my mental health (I dont imagine how it goes for the people struggling with self steem but believe it there are many better places to work) Also my investment towards the environment is more important than getting free samples in low quality products, formulas are very often reused between brands, products are overfilled as the very old machines in production struggle to handle correctly the claims, but my dear client it is you who pays for the lack of company consciousness! and not only because l’oréal gives excessive parties ( Panem et circenses) instead of taking real action towards real environmental initiatives( except cutting heating on buildings so the employées withstand super hot or super cold facilities) They have several levels of how to deal with waste( thousands of packs are overproduced and then thrown away each year or simply shipped by airfreight because timelines are unachievable,) but they are doing better now, instead of throwing them away now, theybsell those incorrectly planned products to the employees!, mmm not enough, have you seen how many new open outlets have opened recently? If you are really concerned about the environment and the quality of life I encourage you to NOT BUY their products as a purchase would trigger any of the subjects just mentioned in this comment.
