    Avantages

    Innovative company that catered to employees personal and professional situations. Focus on culture and team building. Lots of opportunities to engage in diverse projects.

    Inconvénients

    Long, long hours. Expectation to work long hours. Expectation to live company culture outside, even in personal life. Opportunity for growth with more responsibilty but no pay raise.

    Actually take into account staff opinions. Establish realistic goals. Make better financial decisions so not to let go of half of the staff in a several month period.

    Avantages

    There is a mass of people that are believe they are doing the right thing. Pay isn't all that bad either for market rate work. If you're willing to stick around, there is enough attrition at all levels that you can quickly be promoted into a job you are not qualified for with no training to support you.

    Inconvénients

    This is a straight up cult. Full stop. From the book "The Internet is my Religion" pushed on every employee from day one to the criminally negligent emotional engagement forced on all employees veiled in what are called "Circles", this company goes out of its way to indoctrinate you or out you as soon as possible if discovered a threat to the culture. Expect to be gaslit by management at every turn. "First team"... is a strong ethos there, and it's toxic.

    Focus on actual business, not trying to make everyone feel good. At the end of the day, the mission is to run a website. Not to change the world. You're not gonna do it, stop trying with hyperbole. Fix core issues, stop iterating on various skins to the website. No amount of paint is going to fix what are very painful and clear usability issues. You helped elect horrible leaders worldwide in the name of progress.... Do some real soul searching to understand that you are not bringing value to the world.

    Avantages

    -Women in Leadership -Diversity within the company -Your human needs aren't left to the wayside because of work needs -Room for growth -Office is in a great location with lots of perks -Unlimited PTO, 401k, Can WFH often, good health insurance. -Company that has a good mission that you can easily get behind and feel that you are doing good work on the day-to-day.

    Inconvénients

    -Culture can be a bit odd at first. Summits are an interesting experience. Can be kind of clique-y. -Promote "just say the thing" yet you can receive backlash for putting that into practice. - Has a tendency to hire a bunch of people and then lay them off. - While they try to listen to your needs as an individual outside of work you can also be judged for not overworking yourself. -Difficult for remote... employees to level up and create relationships with people outside their teams. -Put too much into the story and not enough on the actual product itself. -Must get on leadership's good side in order to stick around.

    Free food, free housing for a bit, good product

    Inconvénients

    Back stabbing culture and weird paranoid CEO. They uproot promising professionals, move them to LA, then fire more than half after promising them multi year contracts and vested options. The CEO let’s people go, but instead of being a man and firing them in person, he watches from afar and let’s his HRminions do the dirty work. This place has literally ruined people’s careers.

    The office is located near a few good lunch spots.

    Inconvénients

    If you've been hired, congrats. But also, you're not done. The company hires en masse and then fires a significant number of new employees, sometimes within weeks. Of the group of new hires I started with, nearly half were fired at the end of orientation and none lasted more than six months. Employees are overworked and often humiliated by senior staff in the open for performance.

    Avantages

    I've worked at NationBuilder for about 6 months. It's a tremendous place to work and the staff are the kindest and most thoughtful group of people I've ever met. It's a deliberately developmental organization that invests in its people and provides not just opportunities but encouragement to grow. There's been a leadership transition (bigger than new CEO) that's elevated an incredibly talented group of new... executives to senior leadership from both inside and outside the org over the last two years.

    There's some standard mature stage startup issues, like tech debt and product direction questions that people are focused on fixing but aren't fixed and they need to be.

    Avantages

    Incredibly strong female leadership. The values of the company are front and center. People are responsive, on time and extremely respectful to their colleagues. NationBuilder is a place where many different people can thrive. The culture is one of authenticity and personal responsibility. It is a family of people who want to change the world for the better. Extremely good at growing people who this is their... first or second job.

    You need to be emotionally mature to understand, embrace and thrive within the culture. People, especially men, who are not used to receiving feedback from women struggle. If you want a job that you check in and check out, this is not for you. Culture can focus too much internally to the detriment of company growth.

    Stay focused, let go of control and delegate. The team is ready to do hard things. Don't let perfect be the enemy of the good- keep shipping, keep telling the story (even if it isn't perfect), keep moving.

    So apparently this company is a fraud. They have funding issues and your stability in the job is highly unlikely. First the hire you on a contract basis, where the fail to make payments on timely manner( your checks will always be late). Then they insult you before they feel like they need to let you go. This confuses the employee because none of the accusations make sense. Finally, they apologize by calling this... whole situation a mere mis-understanding, and letting you go. And yes i am still waiting for the last two checks and its been a month. Please don’t waste your time especially if you are being hired on a contract basis and you are coming from another state. For the company i would say- work on your management skills, and definitely don’t recruit people if you are going to outsource your jobs due to lack in funding.

    NationBuilder takes the company mission very seriously, and staff are very committed to pursuit of the mission and vision. Company Leadership prioritize culture, values and community which makes for a great working environment. Encouraging of ideas from all levels of the company

    Inconvénients

    For a company that promotes leadership, everyone being a creator, inclusivity and freedom they sure do not practice it. The incompetence of the leadership team is unlike anything I have ever experienced. They do not at all care about their employees needs or well-being and there is no loyalty which results in a tense work environment. The staff is mostly comprised of talented, well-meaning people but they are given... the opportunity to help the company succeed. The HR team is ill-equipped and unprofessional and one of the greatest offenders of the elements that create this unwelcoming, unprofessional environment.
