Avantages
PagerDuty has great leadership, a wonderful culture where it feels like management is really trying to help their employees succeed. People are smart and collaborative and the product is great. PD's focus on customer shows its roadmap is focused and its customers are loyal. It's growth both as a company makes it an exciting place to work.
Inconvénients
Its not perfect - things are changing rapidly and process falls behind the growth. So it's easy to feel underwater and overwhelmed.
Conseils à la direction
Keep listening and keep helping your people. You are on the right track.

Too much good food and snacks!
Conseils à la direction
Keep the controlled growth going!

Je travaille chez PagerDuty à plein temps
Avantages
PagerDuty is awesome. I have worked in and out of tech companies for almost 20 years. In that time, I have never worked for a company that challenges employees to get out of their comfort zones both professionally and personally. We have great career opportunities and managers that care about your growth, Employee Resource Groups (I celebrated International Women's Day for the first time ever this year), yoga classes, a company band (in SF & Toronto), the list goes on and on. Not only that, but we now have a robust and generous Parental Leave Policy that allows employees to spend more time with family without taking a huge financial hit. I love that this company cares about us both on a personal and professional level.
Inconvénients
Sure we're not perfect. We are experiencing huge growth and with that comes growing pains. But the pros FAR outweigh the cons.
Conseils à la direction
Continue to do what you're doing. It's good to see a focus on Career and Manager Development for 2018. Iron the kinks out - let's get our backbone solid before we climb Everest so to speak.

Avantages
Highly collaborative environment, other departments were always willing to help
Inconvénients
Poor senior sales leadership at the time - too focused on short-term objectives at the expense of long-term business growth

Avantages
Get to work with super-smart + passionate individuals. GSD culture in Engineering. Very supportive peers.
Guilt-free culture. If you are feeling sick and need to take a day off or work remotely, you can do that guilt-free. Within Engineering, most teams are split between SF, Toronto, and remote folks. It's very easy to WFH when you like, and there's a culture of trust.
Large enough to find like-minded folks interested in things you are interested in... There's a slack channel for almost any hobby/interest you can think of. Communities within PD meet weekly for random things like tea tasting, meditation, yoga, etc.
Leadership is fully committed to and gets Agile, not just within Engineering, but across the org.
Leadership is fully committed to diversity and creating a safe environment to be one's authentic self.
Inconvénients
Lots of autonomy. You won't be told what to do. Some folks may be so used to being micromanaged that they are uncomfortable in an environment where they're in control of their own destiny + growth.
PD is growing so fast, it's easy to overcommit yourself. Going back to autonomy / being in control of one's destiny... It's important to know what your own boundaries are and creating a healthy work/life balance is up to you.
Conseils à la direction
PagerDuty is changing fast, feels like a new company every 6 months. Let's retain what's important to us + what makes us special as we continue to scale + grow.
Let's add 401k matching ASAP.
Let's look for interns at more than one university.

Avantages
Crazy smart people, passionate about customers, organic and collaborative. No bs, low politics. Executives are down to earth, serious about culture, diversity and employee happiness. Product is very good, with new stuff shipping all the time. Great food, perks and benefits. CEO is the real deal.
Inconvénients
High growth can be scary, transitioning to a bigger company is hard. Some managers are overwhelmed which is hard on teams. Too many meetings.
Conseils à la direction
Keep the communication lines open, 401k marching would be awesome.

Je travaille chez PagerDuty à plein temps (Pendant plus de 5 ans)
Avantages
PagerDuty is a great place to work. Ever department is full of brilliant, empathetic, hard-working people, the customer base spans basically every vertical and market segment, and the opportunity is huge.
Inconvénients
Like many high-growth companies, there's lots to do and it's easy to get sucked into overwork without strong boundaries.
Conseils à la direction
Invest in scaling teams, processes and tools.

Je travaille chez PagerDuty à plein temps (Plus d'un an)
Avantages
Lots of autonomy, opportunity to make an immediate impact, love the people I work with, senior leadership is very approachable and open to new ideas. Most diverse and inclusive company I've ever worked for.
Inconvénients
Always changing course at the last minute. Lack of processes, more red tape than necessary at such a small company, no career development opportunities for those early on in their careers.
Conseils à la direction
Be mindful of hiring from the outside vs. promoting from within. We have been hiring a lot of senior executives, which trickles down to more work for the people actually doing the work - so work/life balance has suffered.
