Avantages
Avantages sociaux, salaires, assistance aux expatriés. Esprit de l'hôpital et ses actions.
Inconvénients
Difficile de rester plus de 3 à 5 ans. Memphis n'est pas non plus la ville la plus sympa des US.

I think it should be open for all not for special children.... Otherwise it's ok...
Inconvénients
Hospital should be open for all not for special... Because under the hospital all are same.

Avantages
St Jude is the best place I ever worked, by a long shot.
Inconvénients
It is hard to see so many desperately sick children, but you can do something to help.

Avantages
This is a company whose bottom line is the patients and family. Working for this company means you get to provide the best care for your patients without having to worry about profit. You are given the tools you need and teamwork is seamless. This organization is always looking to become more advanced and implement best practices. There and endless opportunities for advancement in your career and education.
Inconvénients
This organization has global impact, but they kind of exist in a bubble. They seem to be a touch behind the times with certain things related to providing care. For instance, there is not a streamlined communication tool like most major hospitals. Most places have started utilizing phones and HIPPA compliant apps, but nothing like that has been implemented here yet and most NPs and MDs have pagers.
Conseils à la direction
It would be very nice if orientation was more organized. It is being addressed, but there are a lot of unnecessary growing pains that could've easily been avoided. A lot of the staff that I've interacted with complained about dissemination of information.

Avantages
The culture, the mission, the people.
Inconvénients
Parking. If you leave for lunch, you might as well just go home because there'll be nowhere for you to park when you return. Unfortunately the people in higher positions that should realize this all have assigned parking and no clue.

Avantages
Hands down, the best reasons to work at St. Jude are the kids, our mission, and the people/employees. St. Jude is a wonderfully unique and positive place, choosing to combat childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases with hope, happiness, and resiliency. So many of the employees embody that drive and ideal. The people here know why they're here; for the patients, what brought them here. My role is administrative; I don't have regularly interactions with patients. But, having the opportunity to serve the people that change these patients and families lives everyday is such a gift.
Inconvénients
While the vast majority of the people here are absolutely wonderful, there are some that believe they are entitled to more because of their status or degree. I understand respecting the people who have put in the time, energy, and money to obtain their degrees; but, I will never understand treating others as less than because there are a few extra letters next to your name. Again, not everyone. The majority are amazing, but there are a few bad eggs in the basket.
Conseils à la direction
I do not always agree with the way our executives role things out to the employees. Often times, I feel we are pushed in a more business/big company direction with people resistant to the culture. Unfortunately, some of that cultural unrest or resistance to change comes from the top. There is too much business and science and not enough genuine love for the mission. Not simply enjoyment, appreciation, or encouragement from the mission of finding cures and saving children, but, love. Love that removes entitlement, hierarchies, and departmental boundaries/walls. It's not a term that would ever be used in the business world; but, love is what truly empowers and creates great leaders.

Avantages
Besides feeling like you're part of a bigger cause, St. Jude really makes its employees feel appreciated and supported. Compared to other opportunities, a research position at St. Jude is more secure and provides better benefits and slightly higher compensation. It's also an extremely collaborative, non-competitive environment.
Inconvénients
At times, there is a lot of red tape and things can be slow-moving (ordering supplies, new equipment, office space, etc). There also is a lack of space and a ton of shared space, which is not always ideal in science. However, a new research is currently being built so hopefully this will solve some of these problems.

Avantages
The culture, opportunity for advancement and the management are only a few of the incredible aspects of this organization. They truly want you to succeed and will help you grow and develop new skills in order to do this. The mission is the driving force behind why so many people love it. Throw in an incredible company culture and it’s no wonder no one ever leaves.
Inconvénients
I never experienced any major cons.
