Avantages

I've been working at Swogo for 3 months and it has been great. I've been given the opportunity to constantly learn and develop my skills. I'm encouraged to step out of my comfort zone, which allows me to grow and experiment with different tasks. Everything happens at a fast pace, so you really get to push yourself. The working environment is great, it really feels like a team where people care. If you're a dog... person you'll love Frank, the office dog.

Inconvénients

The interview process can be long, as the company wants to make sure all candidates are hardworking and a good cultural fit. If you're looking for a calm and easy job, this would not be the place for you - you're expected to continuously improve yourself and put effort into your work.

I’ve been at Swogo for 3 years, so I’ve had the opportunity to be part of the ride and see a large part of its journey. I’ve worked in both their Lisbon and London offices and watched the company grow through its different phases, from startup to scale up. I left a good position at a well known company in Lisbon. Joining Swogo has been lot of hard work, but it’s been enjoyable, rewarding (I’ve been promoted 3... times) and it’s a different feeling knowing that I can go to work and be proud of what we’ve all achieved. There’s great people throughout the company - colleagues are helpful, intelligent and committed. We work a lot between departments. I’m a big believer in giving 100% in what I do, and you can really sense that the majority of the team do the same. There’s a strong sense of camaraderie - the management team across all departments are in the trenches with you. That makes the day to day a lot easier :-) Those that deliver and perform at a high level are always rewarded, given more responsibilities and of course, compensation. I've seen that happen so many times and expect this to continue as the company is investing heavily in building out the teams. I’m excited to what is in store for the future!

The culture at the company best suits ambitious people that really want to go for it. It’s not a place for someone looking for an easy ride.

Great company to work for overall. Friendly family atmosphere, very different to anywhere else I've worked. Everything about the company is pro. The most amazing part of this company it is the people, and the lovely dog, are all super nice and friendly, probably because we are all treated with respect. Great work culture , organized, clean office and nice location.

I work in a commercial role at Swogo and the reasons I joined the company in the first place were threefold: 1. Swogo works with some huge retailers across many markets and many verticals. 2. The product solves a huge pain point for retailers - they really need something like this! 3. The company is growing quick which is perfect for ambitious people like myself that want to learn, grow and get invaluable... experience. Since I've joined the company has gone from strength to strength and 2019 looks like it'll be the biggest yet. I do want to be clear that there have been road bumps but this is common at young companies and is no different to what I've experienced elsewhere. What's encouraging is that there's a real culture of transparency and taking responsibility to fix problems. Bottom line: I think it's a great time to join, especially if you - like me - want to have a big part to play in shaping the company's future.

It's not a con per se but I don't think this company is for everybody. It's hard work, fast moving and you're given a lot of responsibility from day one which isn't everybody's cup of tea, but if you get a kick out of that then you'll fit right in.

While I was applying at Swogo, I came across the reviews they had in the past on Glassdoor. I worked there for a few months now and I can say that they are outdated. Swogo changed a lot in the last year and it's the perfect time to join a company that has a strong foundation and a bright future ahead. The recruitment process was quick and detailed compared to other company in Portugal. I knew exactly what... to expect and I was empowered by the product and the vision from the start. I met different people from the leadership team and I joined because it was the right fit, both for them and for me. The team is complementary and the atmosphere at work is focused yet friendly with company lunch every month and events once in a while.

Your job can be challenging at time but it will be worth it, you will learn a lot and evolve as much as the company. You can expect support and empowerment from your management and team. My main advice would be to ask as many questions as you need during the interview process to make sure this collaboration fit both parties.

It’s rare to join a company where they really care, there’s a genuine family vibe. The spirit that the team bring to the company is just amazing. The team are smart and work hard - looking back at how the company has changed in 2018… It's really crazy! I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the journey and look forward to the future.

If you think going the extra mile is an exception and not the rule, it’s not the place for you. The company and team have large ambitions, so it's not for the faint hearted.

- working with highly motivated people - fun & active environment - learning more than you can imagine - high growth opportunity ----- On the community side, the people you are working with are really fun and often the management organizes, not only company lunches and dinners but also fun activities out of the ordinary. Also, the office dog is super nice!
