Je travaille chez Taskrabbit à temps partiel (Plus d'un an)
Avantages
Flexible schedule, independent client management, fast payment, set your own rates and usually make over minimum wage.
Inconvénients
No corporate support – there is no time limit on reviews and reviews are NEVER overturned under any circumstances, even if a client blames you for criminal activity months later. Clients are not helped in understanding negative reviews have massive implications for taskers and thus mean "This person should not be working."
Constant app bug issues – one day you'll be drowning in tasks when the app ignores your schedule, suffering discipline in your metrics for not accepting these tasks, then the next week your profile will be frozen and people can't hire you or see your messages. Complaints will be called "known issues" but will take weeks to fix, adding extreme stress and long periods of overtime or unemployment.
Hostile corporate oversight – even if you make Elite status and have excellent people skills, you will be ignored by customer support and treated with hostility. This will happen even when input is requested, which will be met with excuses and assertions they already know and are "considering working on that" or "that isn't a priority."
Over-hiring and Under-hiring – A lack of internal infrastructure, and, I assume, high turnover without forward thinking means last-minute hiring surges and periods of severe understaffing.
Policies which flex for customers but against Taskers – corporate asserts they cover last minute cancellations for a max of 1 hour, but in reality they will try to make you reschedule, or harass you into backing down from requesting payment when the cancelling client is uninterested in rescheduling, burning 4 hours of your day without pay.
Backwards business policies – no healthcare, no tax support (they track but don't provide expenditure numbers at tax season), etc – a massive movement in circumventing business law for which they take 30% of your income.
Conseils à la direction
Business is to provide for people's needs, not get rich. Pay your staff better and focus on your corporate longevity and employee retention or you'll soon be subject to government investigation and employee strikes, or undercut by the competition.

Avantages
You're basically you're own boss. You get to set your own hours (although it has its limitations, open availability is ideal to get more tasks), you tasks vary( you get to work on all different kinds of things), and you meet lots of great/interesting people.
Inconvénients
Now. As mentioned in the title, it all seems like bliss until they completely switch up on you. It feels like at first they are there to help you but once one thing goes wrong (for example: a clients fraudulent claims or bad review -which is the taskers bread and butter-) it seems that they don't have a taskers interest in mind at all. It's all very one sided. And once you get on their bad side, it's almost as if you're blacklisted and easily disposable. I thought that TaskRabbit would at least defend or protect their quality taskers but that's not the case.
Instead it seems that all that matters to them is their cut, which is the pocket burning 30% fee that they snatch out of every 1st time task with a client.. The metric System is a joke. And the more I do my research on review sites, such as this one and Yelp, even BBB, I find more and more fellow taskers, who seem equally as disheartened and disappointed as I am, with the same EXACT story that I have.
Personally, in my experience, I had a client with whom I did a first time task with, that made outrages fraudulent claims 4hrs after having left his house with no complaints on a cleaning task. Never got paid for the task. Pretty sure either TaskRabbit pocketed it or the client really just made the claim to not pay. The Policies team is a joke as well. I could go on. It's really sad because I loved working on the platform, until I saw the true character behind the company.
Conseils à la direction
Fire everybody and start fresh. You have a great business idea, no need to get greedy and treat your taskers so badly. Oh and be consistent, all of these updates are horrible.

Avantages
You get to help real people with their daily lives by fixing problems, helping with errands, or by getting a huge list complete to get a house ready to be enjoyed before the newborn arrives.
Payday is daily if you work everyday.
Benefits are plentiful!
You get compensated for tasking like a pro plus free swag and a special site all to yourself to share with clients.
You set your pay.
Inconvénients
Some days are slow and it does feel scary if it's your only gig at the moment.
Having the ability to have a better territory drawing tool would be nice, like an advanced scheduling and availability tool that allows you to be available in Seattle AM and the eastside PM.
Conseils à la direction
Keep up the great work! Thank you for being responsive to helping the taskers by being the invisible support backbone.
Please send out more elite swag. Paint doesn't come out easily and holes only get larger with more tasking.

No good advice .proceed with caution.
Inconvénients
I use to have pro about the company ,but when they randomly block me that changed everything My account was closed without explanation and I couldn't attend a recurring assignment. I'm a single mom with a sick child . I wrote many emails and no one ever responded to why I was let go from the community The company I was working for had no knowledge and tried to speak on my behalf but to no avail. The only thing I can think of ,is I couldn't alter my schedule and accept additional assignments due to child care.
Conseils à la direction
My advice is to return calls or emails from taskers. Abide by your description of making your on schedule and don't force unwanted assignments for extortion.

J'ai travaillé chez Taskrabbit (Plus d'un an)
Avantages
Most of the reviews listed for TaskRabbit are left by independent contractors who are not/ were never "employees" of the company. They assemble furniture, scrub bathtubs, deliver groceries and move loveseats by using the TaskRabbit platform to build their own business as a contractor.
I was an actual employee at TaskRabbit at their HQ in SOMA SF.
Pros were a great office location and view, gameroom, lunch delivered everyday, snacks, open bar, music and games in the office. Also they had really excellent offsite events and team hangouts. They offer full benefits, 401K (no matching) and $100 credit per month to spend on independent contractors to do anything you want. Equity packages are offered after 1 year and employees can WFH when they want/need.
Inconvénients
Salary- TaskRabbit pays in the bottom 30% of the industry standard across the board- this includes engineers.
Employee headcount- everyone there quit so there is currently no Android development, limited Product resources (as in NONE), one data scientist, a marketing team of one and no business intelligence. There is also no sales, one person managing partnerships, and a member service team that only exists to "put out fires" in the marketplace.
The product- Essentially TaskRabbit is a platform for untalented, unskilled laborers to come together and charge an hourly rate of whatever they want to quite literally do anything you need. These are people who have been fired from other jobs, are unemployable and generally have no other options but to deliver your groceries or scrub your toilet. They're given the freedom to charge $150/ hour or more for their time. They also are never asked to prove that they are capable of performing these duties so every time you hire one of these people, you risk them being inexperienced.
High level management- There is a major disconnect within the direction of the company. TaskRabbit is not a startup, it is a confused, 8-9 year old company that still does not have their goals together enough to develop any further. There are major structural and operational changes that occur regularly, which is a sign that a company is suffering. Several of us voluntarily declined our stock options because we do not see the company having any worth in the future.
Conseils à la direction
Stop restructuring the business model every 6 months and choose a path and stick with it. Invest in your talent, up salaries to do so.

J'ai travaillé chez Taskrabbit en Contrat Permanent (Plus d'un an)
Avantages
The culture at TaskRabbit is ok. They're friendly, open to new ideas from all employees, but don't take lower-level employees seriously.
Inconvénients
The thing I didn't like about TaskRabbit is I didn't have a single shred of confidence that they were truly committed to helping employees succeed and grow. Often times if we had an idea we were expected to fully execute it using the utmost minimal of resources. Additionally, many long-standing problems with the product went neglected for 6+ months before they were addressed. To me TaskRabbit puts up a type of 'Smoke and Mirrors' act that they're a great company to work for, when in reality, they're strapped for resources and are not committed to employee development.
Conseils à la direction
I encourage the management to review they pay of the MSA team as it's literally paltry and offensive, especially considering that we live in the most expensive housing market in the country. $18/hour does not cut it.

J'ai travaillé chez Taskrabbit en Contrat Permanent (Moins d'un an)
Avantages
Some really smart people work at TaskRabbit. The company is currently in a good place and the public is starting to love the product more than they hate it --like they did when TR pivoted in July '14. It is a great place to learn a lot and work with a lot of different people cross-functionally.
Inconvénients
The reviews mentioning lack of vision are unfortunately on point. Seems like TR is moving away from being a good company that truly helps connect people who need to get work done with people willing and *happy* to do it-- and is becoming an uber type of business :/
Career development is claimed to be important but it is seemingly not in the interest of anyone in management positions. No one who shines seems to progress and people who don't shine seem to be model employees.
Conseils à la direction
Invest in people who have invested in TR!

Avantages
Make your own hours
specialize in what you're best at
good wage (you set your own wage but wages are generally high)
Can take time off and then come back to Taskrabbit
Meet lots of people.
You get a chance to work for many different companies.
Not boring.
Inconvénients
Cold, distant, only semi-organized company that seems to not care a lot about their workers.
On first jobs with a client, the company gets 30%.
Lots of punitive hand-slapping for different sometimes random offenses.
If you're not good working for lots of different people who may or may not be to your liking, then this job isn't for you.
Can be lonely as you rarely meet other taskers.
Conseils à la direction
Set up a more thoughtful bonus structure. Workers respond to words/deeds of praise.
30% is too much commission to take.
Expand your help desk work hours to include east coast working times.
Avantages
TaskRabbit Tasker's can do anything
Inconvénients
People are doing it themselves, badly at home and not using TaskRabbit..

Awesome software, great training, well explained. Intuitive.

I selected deliveries and moving categories in the Mid and North OC area and only received 1 task for a canvassing job. If you are in a non-metro area, be prepared to wait and wait for tasks.
