Avantages
There are some good folks who work here, and some come with backgrounds that help push the studio forward and help create better titles.
Some good attitudes towards some serious problems, either regarding infrastructure, pipeline related or just general stresses of game production. There is a "we'll make it happen and figure out how to do it" mentality that you get with some of the larger ambitious studios.
Depending on the department, there is an ability to move up and around to different roles, which can be difficult at larger studios with more structure.
Some very interesting projects in the works and in the near future.
Inconvénients
A definite inability to match the salary ranges other studios provide. I'm pretty certain this has hurt the studio's ability to recruit better, experienced talent.
A lack of experienced / talented manpower, despite the huge growth. As a result, some folks are definitely going above and beyond in terms of hours, but it is disheartening that this has to happen.
An unfortunate side-effect of the growth has been the inability to retain certain employees, and the attrition has definitely hurt the studio. Despite the growth, projects have fairly small core teams, and each person matters - even the juniors.
There is also a certain lack of structure, where people can carry multiple roles on their shoulders but are not necessarily recognized as doing so in an official capacity. This is something that happens at smaller studios, but with a headcount of 300+ , it would be nice to have an established career plan or matrix and better understanding of an individual's capabilities. I don't even know what kind of career opportunities I have myself in my own department.
The project timelines don't allow for much exploratory pre-production to happen. It's hard to rectify this with how the studio operates, but the pains are felt when priorities and directions start shifting during production, and not everybody has the ability to deal with it smoothly.
Conseils à la direction
There isn't much advice to offer, as there are caveats to any solution and a different perspective for every issue the studio faces.
When I think of Telltale, I think of similar studios from the late 90s to early/mid 2000s(those of which have either shut down or grown to become the power houses of today) and it's difficult to see Telltale's exact future. There is some nostalgia from the way it operates, and some disappointment from those same ways.
It's going to be a rough year, and I'm certain we'll lose people along the way, but ultimately I hope it'll be easier for some to see the light at the end of the tunnel and that the payoff is worth it.
I imagine the low pay / stress is not going to be enticing for a lot though. I think Telltale can be a place where people don't come in for the experience and leave at the first opportunity possible.

Avantages
Overall nice people with fun atmosphere of general creativity. Room for growth. Nice office, albeit tight at times. Learned a lot from this fast paced company and respected how unique the products were that were being made. Some extremely talented people to learn from. Proud to have been a part of that.
Inconvénients
Must concur with some previous sentiments, alcohol soaked culture, it's not to hard to recognize they're talking about the tech group. Having sat next to this group at times, it became very clear that standards were different among departments. Lax deadlines for assignments, absent management, minimal accountability, many days off, etc. in that group. Sadly, even overhearing some of them have disdain for how their department was run. It's no wonder the engine was often called out as dated in reviews. Deadlines for most others were intense with too much constant change, making things hard to keep up with.
Conseils à la direction
There's a culture of fear in certain parts of the company, employees afraid of speaking up for fear of not being listened to or passed over. Execs and VPs should spend a little more time focusing on their people and how things are going rather than just data and deadlines.

Avantages
Minimal accountability for completing long term projects, as long as you stay late to fix bugs when needed (which can be a lot). Company sponsored unlimited hard liquor at wrap parties. Director and VP level supporters/facilitators of heavy drinking culture.
Inconvénients
Long lunches with multiple drinks can get pricy. Long nights, overnights, and occasional weekend work at ship time.
Conseils à la direction
Pay more attention to whether people are actually completing projects and contributing meaningfully to company growth, or coasting and preserving the status quo.

This is a very "fast moving" company, if you like action, this is a great place for you. Lots of respect for staff, the HR and recruitment staff is very good, lots of creative talent everywhere. The teams are intense and creative involvement by every member of those teams seems desired. Telltale is moving upwards, with new games and big ideas, and even bigger success to come.
Inconvénients
Game development is somewhat chaotic at times, ok, well VASTLY chaotic maybe, but that's just the game business. When you're in high growth mode, like Telltale, there can be a hiccup once in awhile. Just be ready to work hard and stick with it, the reward is very satisfying and fun.
Conseils à la direction
I honestly do not feel this is the forum to give advice to any management team. I will, however, say that the people who are in command are fully engaged in the game making business. They are very inventive, going far beyond the usual shoot em up games, offering instead drama, humor, intrigue, and action the viewer decides on using a different, higher-mental process than shoot em ups.
No management is perfect in some aspect, my advice is to let them lead where they want because they have strong vision, something many game companies could use. I would also say that as long as that vision is not empeded by daily operations and technical issues, this is a company on the rise.
I endorse the management team fully.
Rock on Telltale!

You get your hands on a ton of projects and have a fast turnaround time. Your artwork is seen by the world in a matter of months instead of years. The art team is full of awesome, passionate people who are more than willing to help you out when you get stuck on something or have a question. Everyone is very well rounded, due to the fast nature of our work an artist is required to know several skills to keep up.
Inconvénients
Due to the fast nature of our work an artist is required to know several skills to keep up. With the growth of our team, management is stretched thin as we adjust to the new team size. Due to fast turnaround of work quality has been known to suffer.
Conseils à la direction
Simply need to get a handle on the new team sizes and number of projects we are working on. It can be tough to balance everything considering the growth.

The projects were exciting. Love the actual work, when managed correctly.
Inconvénients
As the title suggests, working at the company is like running around with 13 year old boys in the wild west with no adult supervision. It's a joke. They'll lie about benefits to get you in the door, because they don't care about keeping people, just hiring more. Nobody cares about morale, or rewarding good behavior. They will gossip like crazy, not tell you if they gave issues until it is too late, and the list goes on. Turnover is insane, because of all the reasons listed on the other reviews on here (the positive ones exist because the company asks people to do so).
Conseils à la direction
Put a leash on the people below you. I believe you are smart and have everyone's best interest at heart, but there are some idiots in between you and the lower ranks. Turnover does not need to be so high - don't let it be.

Great IPs to work on, some truly awesome people to work with, an industry leader with a prominent profile, pioneering interesting new approaches.
Inconvénients
All that greatness is dragged down by a terrible culture, which stems from the ego, insecurity, temper and lack of communication skills at the very top of the org chart. Telltale's culture is all about overworking, backstabbing, undermining and generally seeing employees as expendable cogs.
Conseils à la direction
Your first to market position in the updated Lucasarts story-adventure genre and ability to secure prominent titles to adapt will win you market share galore, but you will always be know as the "Little E.A." for how you treat people.

Due to the fast growth of the company, the IT infrastructure is going through a large overhaul which is a great thing to be a part of. We get to build systems from the ground up (more or less).
Inconvénients
Typical growing pains of any company going from < 100 employees to over 300 in less than 2 years, both political and technical. Most of the negative reviews here are due to the lack of reviewers understanding this fact.
Conseils à la direction
Do more to allow employees to grow at the same rate as the rest of the company and you will see astounding results.

Fantastic people, good games, talented leadership. A sincere desire to innovate and move the industry forward. Plenty of room for people to grow.
Inconvénients
The ridiculous production schedules and one or two unfortunately uncaring leaders lead to people getting burnt out ... but there are recent efforts to change this. Also, compensation is not great, but this is also improving.
Conseils à la direction
Don't lock down schedules without getting sign off from the people who will do the work. If people are invested and respected, they will step up gladly. If they are ignored and disrespected, they will look for an exit.

Avantages
I've been at Telltale a little less than a year and have watched the company grow quite a bit both on the Administrative and Product teams side. Personally, I've had a good experience here - the teams creating the content for the games are passionate about our products and there is a high bar for quality on the games that we are shipping. It's very fun to be around people who care about making great games.
When I joined Telltale, the HR department, including recruiting, was only 2 people and now we have a decent-sized team focused on improving the employee experience and sourcing quality candidates. The IT department has expanded as well and people rarely have to wait on equipment needs. The game teams are ramping up to be able to support more titles towards the end of this year, and the new people that are coming on seem great.
Inconvénients
There are not tons of frills here. After working in a lot of startups I got used to being spoiled by free everything and Telltale is less about stuff like free snacks than most of those places.
Conseils à la direction
Some of this is already a work in progress, but improving scheduling and making sure people have a manageable workload will be key to the upcoming growth.
