Avantages
Every day is a day filled with new experiences and challenges. It's usually the next day that you can appreciate the knowledge from the day before. It's a very hands-on place, which makes you and your talents very visible! When the right people take notice amazing things can happen to your career.
Inconvénients
Big place you can get lost a lot at first.

Avantages
Not all NYP locations are with 1199 union. So far only Columbia campus. The benefits are great and break times are good. Good pay.
Inconvénients
Certain coworkers are too chatty. Certain lead techs need to learn to relax and not yell at others. There is favoritism regarding who gets to have overtime hours (its easy to spot). Some of the techs also like to gossip, be careful with some of them as they tend to have big mouths. Some areas of the lab differ with response to lateness and call outs—it really depends what area of the lab you are in. Some dont care if you’re 10-15 min late as long as your work is done, other areas you will receive a warning after a minute late. There is also no bonus pay for overnight aside from the differential, unlike at NYU where you get the shift differential + additional bonus pay for overnight. Hiring bonus must be paid back if you leave or are let go under a year. They are very strict with technologist credentials and wont employ techs without an ASCP license after 6 months. Almost no room for advancement. They only allow 1-2 lead tech per shift and they currently dont have any plans to leave since they’re middle aged, and only 1 supervisor per department.
