    Expert Solution Design – DevSecOps platforms

    Job Summary

    Working on the latest Cloud technologies introduced by the CN – Google partnership. Using Infrastructure as codes, DevSecOps and the modern CN Digital platforms. The primary function of the Expert DevSecOps Platforms is to play a key role in the CN DevSecOps Core team, define, set-up, and operate secure and automated continuous delivery pipelines.

    The Expert DevSecOps is responsible for producing pipeline templates aligned with business objectives within a specific field of expertise of the CN digital platforms.


    Main Responsibilities

    DevSecOps Core Support

    • Support the Azure DevSecOps (ADO) Platform evolution, provide expertise on current capabilities and future ones.
    • Lead DevSecOps juniors’ members of the Core support team.
    • If needed, define new capabilities required by different projects.
    • Ensure maximum adoption for all CN pipeline templates.
    • Instruct and host workshops for onboarding new DevSecOps specialist.
    • Act as level 3 support for all issues requiring a higher level of expertise in order to get a proper resolution.
    • Responsible for ensuring the DevSecOps capabilities complies with CN Information Security.

    DevSecOps Planning

    • Estimate efforts of work breakdown structure elements associated with domain(s) of expertise.
    • Ensure alignment of the schedule with the functional team in line with domain(s) of expertise.
    • Define testing strategy and align with the functional team in with domain(s) of expertise.
    • Identify any special requirements for transition-to-core.


    Technology Roadmap

    • Research market for innovation and emerging technologies aligned with business strategy and direction.
    • Maintain catalog of existing capabilities within domain(s) of expertise and provide advisory services to various technology owners.
    • Research ways to improve and automate deployment of existing and new capabilities.
    • Provide leadership in the roadmap within the domain(s) of expertise; making recommendations to ensure components relevant; otherwise trigger introduction of new technology as well as containment or retirement.

    Organizational Impact

    Decision Making & Impacts

    • Owner of the sections related to domain(s) of expertise in the Blueprint for medium complexity projects.
    • Assist business by providing the right solution(s) for their needs with efficiency, safety, security, productivity, profitability, and cost-saving in mind.
    • Provide artifacts to increase transparency to project teams and stakeholders; create deliverables through constant collaboration cycles, ensuring all involved will be in agreement with proposals to keep the project on-track and assist other teams with production planning.
    • Research on industry-standard practices and technologies; ensure our position in the Global Market is constantly improving by introducing newer standards that will aid in faster production of solutions, increased efficiencies for administration and clients, and improved visibility.

    Level of Interaction/Influence

    • Influence vendors within domain(s) of expertise to release solutions better aligned with CN’s needs, with increased security and automation.
    • Position current technology capabilities in the direction of their roadmap and influence Product Owners to adhere to them.

    Requirements

    Education/Certification/Designation

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree & experience.

    Skills/Knowledge

    • Strong knowledge in domain(s) of expertise.
    • Familiar with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
    • Broad knowledge of software development, telecom, infrastructure, or Industrial IoT technologies.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel and meet deliverable dates.
    • Very good technical documentation skills.
    • Very good communication and presentation skills.
    • Proactive, able to plan, address or mitigate technical risk.
    • Proven experience delivering technology projects involving multiple parties.
    • Knowledge of IT security principles.
    • Ability to clarify requirements and ensure solution meets business needs.
    • Strong systems engineering or development knowledge.
    • Strong sense or prioritization for meeting deadlines.
    • Subject matter expert in at least one domain (specialty).

    Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience
    • Minimum 5 years experience working in DevSecOps with CI/CD technology such as Azure DevOps, Git
    • Minimum 3 years experience with Infrastructure as code technology such as Terraform, Ansible
    • FinOps and Cloud cost control experience
    • Troubleshooting and analytical skills
    • GCP certification is an asset

    Working Conditions

    Occasional business travel (in Canada and US) in accordance with CN policy.

    This position is posted as a grade LEVEL 7. For internal candidates, note that the grade level of the position may adjust based on the employee's experience.
