Brief in person interview (<1 hour), then a phone interview afterward with a higher up. I talked with multiple (approx 10) different people in the department and had the opportunity to ask all the questions I wanted. They were very straightforward about the timing of the entire process and when they would get back to me.

The group of managers reviewed my resume in front of me and asked questions regarding my skill set. They quizzed me regarding typical industry work to see if I was competent enough. They were also interested in my career interests and where I saw my career heading. It was an overall positive interview and the hiring process went very quickly.

A phone interview and face-to-face interview with a panel of 4 scientists. They gave me very positive feedback in the interviews and were on the verge of a job offer. After filling out an overabundance of paperwork and wasting even more time with back-and-forth emails to the project manager of the photochemical modeling group, the interview team "collectively" did not feel it was a good fit. No other elaboration. When I requested an explanation, she was very rude and unprofessional to me. Based on the many negative reviews of this company, I was very happy to take a job offer elsewhere.

The process involves a panel of people including site supervisors up to program level management. A mix of technical background, i.e. projects worked on and people supervised. This was followed with questions regarding work ethic and commitment, trying to gauge if personality would be a good fit with the rest of the folks in the office.

Interviewed on a Wednesday, was offered the job on the following Monday. The position was more or less a lateral move as far as job responsibility and title, but with a higher pay. Accepted and started new job about four weeks later. Very casual interview. Interviewed by my new manager and his supervisor. Interview was sort of an "Old Boys Club" in the sense that the direction of the conversation was more geared towards "well, who do you know?" Versus "what do you know?" Since it was a very similar position to my last job, they just quickly skimmed over the job responsibilities to verify that my resume was accurate and then moved on to more casual
conversation to get to know me more personally. The way the conversation was progressing, it seemed as if I already had the job within the first ten minutes. Oh by the way the interview barely lasted 30 minutes total.

Was offered higher salary than my initial salary requirements prior to getting called to interview. Salary offer was higher than average listing for this position at this company. Did not negotiate. My salary requirements were slightly below the average for the position. My advice would be to place your requirements slightly above the average. Although I am completely satisfied with my salary, I feel like I might have left money on the table by not asking for more in the first place.

I was interviewed (and later hired) from an HR event called Fantastic Friday. I was invited after a small phone interview with a recruiter, who had seen my resume several times (e.g., recommendations from teacher, applications to AECOM jobs). At the event, I met various people within my office that I may work with. The next day you were asked back for an interview. I was interviewed by a group of three people. Questions ranged from very technical /scientific (e.g., studies at school) to more personal (e.g., leadership skills). I am under the assumption that this type of HR event / interview process is/was rare for AECOM. No one in my group was hired like this past me.
