    Applied online, got an email back for a 30 minute screening call to move me to the next step and schedule the next interview time. After that, interviewing with two actuarial employees, one after the other. Each was a 30-minute call and was fairly basic questions, asking about your resume, college experience, work experience, etc.

It sounds like a lot, but the first two and second two were back to back, so it only felt like two.

    I was found by a recruiter on Handshake. I had a short call with him to talk about the TechStart program. It's 1 year and you rotate through 3 different teams, 4 months each in different areas of technology. Such as, software development, QA, business analyst, architecting, and a few others. 60k salary, 10% bonus, and pretty good benefits.

    30 min technical phone screen with basic questions. Tell me about your project, your internship, when did you first get into programming, what technical things do you want to learn, etc.

    I was invited for a 2-hour onsite interview, structured as two 1-hour interviews with 2 different people in each. The first was with an IT Manager and Product Manager. Questions like tell us about yourself, can you move from team to team, how was your internship, what do you know about our TechStart program, which of the two paths do you want to go down (business or technical?), etc. They were very friendly, easy to talk to, asked great questions, answered my questions and concerns really well, it was a good interview.

    The next 1 hour was with a software architect and IT Manager. Similar as the first interview, but asked me questions that were slightly more technical (no OOP, data structures, or algorithms) and geared towards my resume. These two guys were even more easy to get along with. They were making jokes and laughing half the time, but in a good way. E.g., I asked, how do you put an entry level person into software architecting? There's no way that kind of person can be expected to do that? They laughed and said yes, glad you caught on, you won't actually do architecture yourself, you're more like a helper/shadower to an architect.

    I was called the next day from my recruiter with an offer, but I had to decline it later because it wasn't what I was looking for. The salary is about 8k less than the average entry level software engineer's salary in the Twin Cities. Also, I wanted to get into software development and didn't want to waste a year exploring other career paths.

    I spoke to the head recruiter on the phone and he told me to add a few things to me resume. I then spoke to 2 actuaries that had on staff. I got a call about a week later asking me to fly to Minneapolis to interview with the four heads of the different departments. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. I was also given a tour by two newer employees and they told me about the atmosphere and more about the internship program. A lot of their questions were situational or oddball question were they wanted to gage how you will react. Also, send a follow up thank you email. When they told me I did not get the job, they mentioned that the emails I sent meant a lot and it showed that I cared about the position.

    A brief 30 minute phone interview and then an invitation for second round at the Golden Valley HQ. Both interviews were a get to know you and behavioral based questions. The interview experience was great and it was a very transparent process.

    I applied online on a Wednesday afternoon. HR emailed me on Thursday morning to set up a phone interview. Did the phone interview on Friday morning. Did the face-to-face job interview and job shadow on Monday morning. Received a job offer via phone on Tuesday morning. Phone interview lasted 20 minutes with a little small chat. In-person interview lasted 75 minutes. 30 minutes was with a customer service rep listening and watching him work to see what the job is like. 30 minutes was with 2 managers who took turns asking 8 questions. 15 minutes was with the 2 managers who answered my questions. Note: most CSR positions are hired in groups so up to 20 positions may be available at one given time.

    2 phase - one call, one in person. Comfortable environment, walk through of nice campus. Talked about process and job expectations. Nice people. on phone about 15-20 minutes, in person about 45 minutes, met two of the leaders and then met a few team members, everybody seemed to like the environment and interact quite pleasantly with each other. They have some nice ammenities and perks.
