    1) System design - general application architecture (just a little bit of code).
    2) System design - more focus on choosing right databases and writing DB queries (mostly SQL).
    3) Lunch with the manager + talking about your experience and about the project in general.
    4) Talk about your experience + a little bit of problem solving questions.
    5) Single algorithmic / data stracture problem solving task + talking about testing of that task + talking about the project.

    The process includes an initial interview with the hiring manager and the on-site, which includes interviews with PM's, other technical writers, engineers, and managers. My recruiter was extremely communicative throughout the process and I felt a good fit with the individuals who I interviewed with.

    The lab is great because you get to actually use the AppD product and play around with it. I had no APM experience and was able to figure it out, there were a few things that took me a while to grasp but learning was fun.

    Overall, great team - you can tell they care about you as a person, your happiness in the role and really setting clear expectations. I loved the interview process, I was challenged and got to meed some amazing people who I now get to call coworkers.

    Two interviews - one was more focused on behavioural, one was more focused on technicals. Both interviewers were very nice. I am excited to work with them!

    Also, I am very impressed with the intern recruiter. She's definitely one of the best recruiters I've ever encountered. First of all, she was very quick to respond (replies within 2 hours! I have never met another recruiter who replies faster!) Any questions I had, she answered with great detail and clarity. She was also very patient, professional, and friendly with me despite that I sent her quite a few emails with questions. I was never left in the dark and was kept updated throughout the process. Very happy about the hiring process!

    Started with a pretty standard initial screening. Then I met with the Marketing director and 2 field marketing managers and then the regional sales leadership. I heard back in a timely matter; but was disappointed they did not follow up personally after investing so much time I got a standard rejection form letter.

    The process started off fine with recruiting exhibiting a high level of professionalism and correspondence. Midway through after the second interview they switched recruiters and failed to provide me any feedback about my second interview - even after I politely inquired cc’ing both the new recruiter and the one from before. THEN, nearly a month later, they sent me a cold “form letter” saying they had decided not to move forward with me. No feedback, nothing. I am disappointed in the lack of personal follow-through. It is one thing to send a cookie cutter rejection email to applicants who never interviewed but another thing to send one to a candidate who has already met with the team. I hope that AppDynamics takes note of the low scores on here and make some changes!

    Yikes! That is not good at all - and not the way we like things to work around here. There's no excuse, but as an explanation, there was a recruiter transition and communication fell through the cracks. We appreciate the time you spent applying and interviewing, and though we can't change your initial experience, we ask for a second chance if you find another role you'd like to apply for.     Prior to applying for the position, I had lunch with the hiring manager to discuss the position. Following that discussion, sent my resume directly to the hiring manager, and was contacted by the technical recruiter about five days later. After a brief discussion with the recruiter, I was asked to come to an onsite interview. I met with three team members from the department, the hiring manager, and the Department Manager. The interviews ranged from very technical to a friendly chat about past experiences. All interviewers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

    Okay, this was by FAR the weirdest interview i've ever had! First, the person who met me at reception didn't really know where we were going. She was frazzled, confused and seemed to be at a complete loss as to where the actual conference room was we were going to. This was the 1st thing i thought was strange....the interview was so boring i couldn't help but start thinking about what i wanted for lunch. When the interviewer said, 'we like to have a lot of fun around here', my initial response was 'really?'....because it didn't seem to me there was much fun to be had here at this office. Once i interviewed with the employee experience person or whatever, she seemed so fake, i knew this job was probably a nightmare. The hiring manager was the worst though, stone faced, rude, when i asked her if i was supposed to see anyone at the end of my interview with her, the response was 'i thought you had to go somewhere and were unable to stay longer'...which was true, i did. I just lost track of time because i was so bored for the last two hours i'd been there interviewing with some of the most boring and fake people i've ever met. OH, and the phone screen with the GM? He talked about himself for the entire 30 mins, asked me questions and then answered them himself....was the easiest interview i ever had! All in all, the environment here seems toxic. Certainly for this group. Maybe there are other departments at AppD that are great and deserving of almost a five star rating, but there are so many other great places to work and i find it hard to believe that this place would be one of them!
