J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez Apple (Cupertino, CA) en sept. 2011
Entretien
Lunch with the hiring director. A lot of questions about my background, and a very high level description of the responsibilities of the hiring group, any of my detailed questions were rebuffed with, "I can't talk about that." Like interviewing with the CIA, only more secretive. This was still in the Steve J. era so no idea if that's changed, but boy oh boy did it speak volumes about what the actual working environment must be like. If you ever fantasized about what it must have been like working on The Manhattan Project, well, look no further and join up with Apple immediately.

Question 1
A lot of focus on "are you able and willing to code." It seems that this is a core expectation of engineering managers at Apple (who said such expectations were just for startups?)

I had a very positive experience overall during the interview process. While the timeline was somewhat slow—similar to what you’d expect from other large companies—the process itself was very well structured and thoughtfully organized.
Each stage of the interview felt purposeful, and it was clear that there was a strong framework in place to evaluate candidates fairly and consistently. What stood out the most was the recruiter’s communication. They were proactive, transparent, and kept me informed with frequent updates throughout the process, which made a big difference in managing expectations.
Overall, despite the slower pace, the professionalism and structure of the process, along with excellent communication, made it a great experience.

First round with the hiring manager went well. The system design round was also positive. However, the third skip‑level round was very disappointing. The interviewer seemed rushed, often cut me off, and showed visible frustration instead of listening. In my view, this behavior felt unprofessional and not aligned with the interview standards I expected at Apple.
