I applied online and was immediately contacted within a day from a corporate recruiter. Had a pre-screening interview over the phone in which it went very well They then moved me to the next round with a google hangout interview with the product design manager. I told them I would be in town for an in person interview and they were more than happy to change it from a google hangout to an in person. I had asked the corporate recruiter if I was going to have a portfolio review and she insisted I wouldn't and the hiring manager would ask basic design questions. And if they liked me they would move on with a portfolio review then a white boarding challenge. Came in for the interview at the downtown office. A nice lady showed me around the office. Then came the interview with the hiring manager. He said, "ok so what do you have presented for me" Let me repeat the recruiter told me this WOULD NOT be a portfolio review. I was in shock and told him sorry I wasn't prepared for a portfolio review. He insisted to present anyways. He THEN continued to humiliate me by being aggressive. He also questioned me of being a designer when I have over THREE years of UX design experience working at a FORBES GLOBAL 100 company. He was extremely rude and was not professional at all. Red flags: If he was this rude at the interview image him being your manager. Tips: Don't tell your candidates false information before going into an interview.
