Zoom Interview with a surprise mentioning of a "Grant Finance Test" and the President who owns 2/3 of the company said "It isn't a make or break it, but it is ridiculously hard, so I'm not sure why we're giving this test." This is a red flag to me. You run your company and you don't know why you put your applicants through parts of the interview process.
- Tell me about yourself, your entire work history on your resume, what was your original career path, why do you want this job.

Very lengthy process. Had multiple rounds of interviews with different managers and department heads, which was a bit confusing and hard to get a sense of who you'd be working with. Questions are pretty standard and nothing unusual. Seems like most of the marketing staff is fairly new.
- Where do you want to be in 5 years?

The company reached out to me to schedule an interview. We settled on a time a date, and I received an email confirmation that they would call me. The time and date arrived, but no one called. I waited 10mins and then called their number to check-in in case something came up on their end and we needed to reschedule. I quickly explained that I was supposed to have an interview, was transferred without acknowledgement, and I was connected to the interviewer. The interviewer insinuated the fault was on my end (that I was supposed to call them instead of them calling me). This definitely wasn't what I was told (and in writing), and it definitely put a sour note on the interview.
- What interests you about the organization (as opposed to bigger sized organizations)?

Applied for the job and was invited for a phone interview which I was told to wait for decision 1 week later. Never heard back so I sent a follow up email asking about the status 10 days later. The interviewer sent an email 3 days later stating they were busy and told me hiring process was still continuing and I would be contacted with more information within 2 weeks. Still no respond in the next 2 weeks so sent a second following email asking if the position was still opened on the first day of the 3rd week after the email respond from the interviewer and still no respond. I feel it is extremely unprofessional to avoid individuals who have applied to a position and taken time to interview. I understand they might be working on several projects at the same time but I dont think it is apporpriate to promising interviewee a time range yet constantly breaking it. I can't imagine it's a caring workplace if they can't even reply to a person interested in working for them and so poor in time management.
- Basic interview questions about background and past experiences

The interview process began with a call to go over general questions regarding my qualifications for the job and why I think I would succeed. The interviewer was straightforward and easy to speak with. Next, I was brought into the office for two different tests - a writing one and a data matching one. I highly recommend viewing the database portion of their website to prepare for these interviews, as well as playing around with several pesticide databases maintained by various countries (look up Canada, Australia, or the European Union for good examples to relate to during interview). The final interview was with the entire team, including the director to ensure I was a good fit. It was an easy-going interview and I felt comfortable speaking with everyone.
- What kind of experience do you have using or building databases and inputting data?

BCI had a 3 part interview process. The first was to meet with a local office manager for a preliminary interview. Second was a timed written assessment with a predetermined prompt. The third was another in-person interview at a local office with upper management via Zoom.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Applied for the job and was invited for a phone interview. I was told during the phone interview that the interviewer was leaving the position and given contact information for the new hiring person. After sending a follow up email to my interviewer, I never heard back, so I sent an email to the contact provided to me. This person told me the hiring process was still continuing and I would be contacted with more information as it continued. I was never contacted again. I sent another email asking if the position was still open or had been filled, and was never given a reply. I feel it is extremely unprofessional to avoid individuals who have applied to a position and taken time to interview. The very least they could do is send a form email saying someone else has been decided upon. I can't imagine it's a caring workplace if they can't even reply to a person interested in working for them.
- What do you think this job entails?

The first interview was pretty standard; the questions focused primarily on one's relevant work experience and the roles and expectations of the job being discussed at hand. The second interview, which is essentially a skills test, was sent to me two weeks after the first interview. I didn't hear back from this company until 1 month+ after the skills test and that is with following-up after the skills test.
- What is your greatest weakness?

I had a quick phone screen with a couple of developers and was asked some basic questions about my past experience and a couple of relevant, surface level technical questions. Immediately afterwards was asked to come in for an on site interview. The interview was with the entire tech team (5 people at the time.) It covered a wide variety of topics focusing a lot on personality and culture fit. Later that day I was given an offer.
- They gave me a sheet of queries to write and tasks to complete in a sample database that they had built including a few "if you have time" questions, and left me to do that on my own for about a half hour before reviewing what I had done.
- A lot questions about personality and the kind of environment I like to work in

Applied online. A week later they asked to come in for an in-person interview. (no phone interview). Two marking account managers asked me questions that were very specific to my resume and experiences. I haven't heard back yet- they told me that there would be round 2 and 3 and that round 2 would have writing assessment and round 3 would have the VP and other members of the marketing team ask questions. 3-4 people make it to round 2.
- Tell me a story about you.
