    Entretien de Partnership Manager

Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Dublin, Dublin (Irlande)
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience négative
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 8 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à CarTrawler (Dublin, Dublin (Irlande)) en décembre 2019.

    Entretien

A Cartrawler recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and set up a phone screener. That seemed to go well, and we covered a lot in 10-12 minutes. As follow-up, the recruiter outlined the process of a video interview with the hiring and country manager, followed by additional interview(s) with leadership in Dublin. I never received an interview date, due to "scheduling difficulties and the hiring manager traveling". I sent additional information and a resume to strengthen my candidacy and was told the recruiter would follow up after the New Year, but has not responded to additional emails expressing my interest. I don't know if the position was put on hold, other candidates were found, or they are going in a different direction.

    Very systematic interview process.
    -- First level basic screening.
-- Telephone round for about an hour based on technical skills and situation-based questions.
-- Analysis of dataset and presentation of the same with actionable insights at onsite interview, and some competency-based Q&A.

I applied twice for the position and in both I went on site, both were ok I think, and I suppose that when someone ask you to have a second interview at least should call you back to give a feedback, but Cartrawler doesn’t do that, even in the second one I sent an email asking about an update, I think Human Resources it’s just unprofessional, they need to change the process even by phone they told me the position was not during the weekends and the manager told me yes...

    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris +2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien à CarTrawler (Dublin, Dublin (Irlande)) en juillet 2019.

    Entretien

Applied online, after a month heard back about a phone interview. HR person told me time it was happening and who with. On the day of the interview, one of the interviews emailed with a link to software needed for the call as HR did not include it, this was 20 minutes before the call. Phone interview was about CV, projects and found out what the role was since the job spec online was literally missing all information about the role other then some of the tech stack they used. After interview was sent a code test and was told that the next step was an onsite after the test was done. After competing the test I send it one and never heard back at all. Its been a month since then and I have seen them re-post the job spec, so I'm assuming that I didn't get it or the HR person I dealt with wasn't bothered with doing their job.

Complete waste of time, downloading software, talking to people and doing a coding test.

Had an incredible candidate experience during my interview process with Cartrawler - Probably the best I have ever had. My recruiter was a gentleman and was very well informed about the company and role. The turn around was very quick, and took just over a week to complete all stages.

    Entretien de Business Development Manager

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à CarTrawler (Dundrum, Dublin (Irlande)).

    Entretien

A two stage interview process first stage was competency based and second stage was a presentation based on a specific scenario followed by competency based questions from the interviewers and some other colleagues that joined.

Overall the process was a very relaxed and fun process. All the staff I met were very friendly and I thought I would fit in perfectly which makes the knock back a very disappointing result

Phone interview followed by face-to-face interview. Phone was basic, asking for details and couple of general questions. The face-to-face interview just asked about previous experience and completed a customer response using the terms and conditions.

They make a phone call screen and send you hypothetical scenario about carhire away. It's pretty much attention to the detail and understand the industry. They send this to e-mail and repeat the same process personally. Then you have 3 weeks training and they expect you to know all the content by heart or you out of the game.

1st: email from the recruiter to schedule a phone interview. 2nd: Phone interview with a HR representative and team member: general questions around my CV and my experience so far and about the role I applied for: why I applied, what's my understanding of the role, what technology I have used and what skills I can transfer to the new role; there was a couple of more detailed competency based questions too. After a phone interview I received a positive feedback and they felt I was a good candidate for the role. A following day I received an invitation for an on-site interview with the same team member who attended the phone interview + the team lead. When an onsite interview day came, I arrived to CarTrawler's office a few minutes before the scheduled time, the offices look the same like in the pictures which made me feel somewhat like "deja vu". The team member arrived at the reception on time and she took me to small meeting room in which we waited a few minutes for a Team Lead who was late. In the meantime we exchanged a few sentences about living in Ireland - that helped to relax a bit more :-). When the Team Lead arrived and greeted with me I instantly felt some kind of "unfavorable" vibrations beaming from him towards me. He started the interview and after a few minutes I knew he didn't like my candidature or at least his body language, the way he talked and face expressions were not very enthusiastic about me which made me feel a little bit nervous. The first stage of the interview was to talk about my experience, the Team Lead asked specific questions (some of them about my previous work that had very little if nothing to do with the car rental industry I currently work in or the role I applied for at Car Trawler). Then I heard questions from both interviewers related to the college I graduated from last year and finally we went to the stage in which we talked about the role I applied for and the CarTrawler as a company (e.g. do I know how CarTrawler makes profit/uses its produts + give example) . I didn't get many questions like this though. Not many topics strictly related to the job / technical skills that are required to do that job (those few ones I was asked were pretty general ones, it usually indicates that the interviewer is either stressed, not prepared or simply not interested in you) and yet during the interview I felt I was not being explored thoroughly with industry-specific questions by the interviewers, especially that I come from car rental industry (corporate environment with a solid technical background) and I didn't feel I was asked the right questions that would help me to show my full potential and the knowledge I had gained within last few years. I brought some good quality data visualization printouts (work or college projects) to show my technical capabilities and I think it was my mistake as I did put myself into challenging moment when the Team Lead asked specific questions about these visualizations (analysis) e.g. what business conclusions a specific visualization brings (he picked the worst possible visualization to talk about -from my perspective :) - and for a few seconds I struggled to answer reasonably his questions that seemed to be aimed at finding something to sink me in :-) but eventually I came up with a decent answer after which he gave the nod but the moment when I was working on the answer must have not been too convincing for him I think (?). My overall feeling after onsite interview was rather positive but I felt I didn't show even 70% of me which partly was my fault but also due to "little-exploratory " questions I was asked. I didn't feel the chemistry from the Team Lead from the beginning to the end of the interview which probably affected my confidence and the quality of my answers. After the interview I found out that the Team Lead had been with CarTrawler for just 3 months (!?), and he came from non-travel / non-car rental industry. This would explain very few typical industry/role related questions. I felt some questions were aimed to find my weak side (to have a reason to fail me) rather than to explore my strengths. On the other hand, the second interviewer (woman) seemed ok (a bit nervous though). I was not selected to the final, third stage of the interview process with a department manager. It was my second attempt to CarTrawler and I 'll think twice before applying again, if ever ...it's a bit disheartening for somebody with 5 year experience in leading car rental company (corporate) holding an analytical/business supporting role + degree in analytics +digital marketing, strong SQL, Tableau ...
I've got a strong feeling that hiring managers / non HR people involved in the recruitment process at CarTrawler are not necessarily the best recruiters ... HR part of the recruitment at CarTrawler is usually very good, friendly and focused on facts / exploration.

The interview itself was quite enjoyable, the interviewers were very friendly, no tricky questions asked. What was unusual is that I didn't receive any feedback after the interview. Chased the recruiter after 2 weeks asking politely if there was any update on my application. The email was ignored. This is the ONLY company I ever dealt with that did not bother to give any feedback after a face-to-face interview. Not even an automatic email. You wouldn't expect such an attitude from the Best Place to Work awarded company.
