It was all on zoom with the webcam on. They were very straightforward and clear. Very conversational. About 30 minutes each and they were super nice. It seemed like people liked to work there and they were open to me asking questions.

    Entretien

I applied online and got a call from the recruiter about a week later to schedule an interview. I interviewed with a manager from the Austin office a few days later. The interview went well and the manager responded positively to my "Thank you" email so I was surprised when they decided not to continue with my candidacy.

    Entretien

Applied online. Got a glowing upbeat invite to have a phone screen with a recruiter. Thought it went well, until I realized at the end of the call, that she was vague about timeline, or if the job was really in consideration at all now. Wrote her several times re follow-up. She said when the hiring manager was not tied up she'd give me a status update. Never heard back one way or the other.

    Entretien de People Operations Analyst

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Waltham, MA (États-Unis)
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience neutre
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

    Entretien

I applied at the beginning of August and heard back about 2 weeks later. I had a phone call with the recruiter, followed a few days by a zoom call with a manager who would be a peer. The next week I had a zoom call with the Head of People, and then a week after that I had a zoom call with a VP in Finance and the Director of TA. I heard back a little over a week later with my rejection.

This was a process that started out great and then broke down along the way. Originally I was supposed to talk to the Head of People, Finance VP, and Director of TA all on the same day, but something got messed up in transit. Each interviewer had a different idea of what this role would actually do. While 3 of the 4 interviewers were great, one seemed like they had no idea why they were even were talking to me and seemed distracted/disinterested for our interview, which was disheartening. I was told to expect feedback at the end of the week following my last interview, and got nothing in response to my follow up on the Friday. I noticed on Friday around noon that the job listing was removed and figured out for myself what had happened, which left a bad taste in my mouth. I did get a rejection email at 10:30pm local time (local for the recruiter as well) telling me what I already knew and with super generic "everyone had positive feedback but we liked another candidate better", which I feel is really weak for someone who went through the full process. Overall, I'm leaving the process with a less than stellar opinion of Care.com, which is a shame for a role and company I was so excited for.

Phone screen with the recruiter who was nice enough to sell the position, opportunity, and team.

Next step was a interview with the Director, which was a Q/A, behavioral questions, and case study.

Overall the interviews ran very smooth and they seemed like a decent team.

    Entretien

They reached out to schedule a phone interview with the recruiter. Then they canceled due to the job being on hold. A while later I reached back out and was able to get a phone interview. The recruiter asked me basic questions that were not specific to the job at hand. When I asked about the job the recruiter didn't give me much additional insight. When I asked questions, answers were one word or one sentence. The recruiter was not engaging, seemed uninterested, and it did not feel like a typical conversation. I already felt like I lost the job opportunity halfway through the interview because the conversation wasn't very pleasant.

    Entretien de Product Manager

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience négative
    Difficulté moyenne

    Candidature

    Entretien

Applied online, phone screen with recruiter a couple weeks later, interview with hiring manager, was given a case study to prepare for with very little notice before interviewing with the hiring manager again (also including the associate product manager and a designer this time to walk through the case study live), interview with head of product who thought I would be better suited for another role as they were hiring multiple product managers, interviewed with the other hiring manager.

Everything seemed to be progressing, the recruiter mentioned it might even be a situation where hiring managers would be fighting over me to be on their team. I was told I crushed the case study challenge and all who I interviewed with were raving about me. I was fully expecting an offer based on all of the conversations as they had many open product roles I was qualified for.

After six weeks of interviewing for multiple roles, the recruiter basically told me that everyone I interviewed with absolutely loved me, however the CEO swooped in and had one of his referrals hired instead. The other hiring manager wasn't experienced with hiring and was afraid to make the wrong choice (even though her boss had straight up recommended me for the role). Seems like there is a culture of fear and indecision among the product team which usually means poor management and toxic environment.

I was also then told I didn't have enough experience for one of the other open roles (which I did have more than the required qualifications). When I asked about a more junior role they had open, the recruiter said I was OVER qualified for the role and wouldn't be considered. He then pretty much ghosted me after that with no updates.

The company had an opportunity for a more-than-qualified product manager that got along well with the teams to join their organization, however the CEO's nepotism hire was the path they chose. I can't imagine how they treat their employees if this is how they treat their potential candidates.

Doesn't seem to be a lot of CARE at care.com....

LinkedIn wants to develop of growth plan for their Premium Membership. Only a small percentage of members upgrade, and they don’t stay premium for long.

Given the above, what user experience and/or pricing and packaging changes would you
      recommend to drive Premium growth?

      Considerations/Questions:
      • What key questions/data points would you need answered prior to embarking on a project like
      this?
      • How would you measure success? What KPIs would you prioritize?
      • How would you develop a test plan to prove out your hypotheses and assumptions?
      • How do you ensure you are creating a delightful customer experience?

Note: What’s important is the content and not the visuals
Product Managers at Care.com often have to produce low fidelity wireframes to convey the intended user experience. Please use whatever deliverable/tool is easiest for you to convey the user experience that you would recommend.

Note: all Care.com project teams have creative designers, so product managers at Care.com are not expected to produce high fidelity designs. Product Managers at Care just need to be able to convey the conceptual user experience.   Répondre à cette question

The interview process included a phone screening and a one day on-site interview with two different hiring managers - the direct manager and one of her former colleagues. Both were personable, friendly, and conversational in tone. They answered all of my questions. I was then given a tour of the facility and told what the rest of their hiring process would be, as well as what to expect. I was told I would hear something either way.
