Situation Task Action Result (STAR) interview method. Caterpillar uses this method for full-time and interns. Interviewing for the internship was easy. I interviewed with two separate people and the questions were geared towards a college student. Interviewing for the Rotational Program was rough. It was a panel interview and the questions were far more specific. It was also obvious they were looking for particular answers and wanted very specific CAT related experiences. Based on my interview experience, interviewing internally is far more difficult than interviewing as an external candidate.
