    Overall the application process was very clear and fast moving. The final round was an in person interview with a panel of three people. I was initially rejected and later phoned and offered the position.

    I applied for the role via LinkedIn. From there, I was called and invited in for interview. I was given a detailed email about the interview style and how to prepare. It was a competency based interview with a presentation. I met with the hiring manager, a senior recruiter and a HR business partner. They were beyond lovely and made me feel comfortable from the get go.

    Interview involved a competency based interview with a panel and a case study which was given on the day. The interview took around 45 minutes. Overall it was a good experience.

    Much to say starting from scheduling interview:
    If ESB posts new role, then expect response after 4 -6 months if you are luck.
    The Recruitment process is extremely long and procrastinated and eventually becomes frustrating.
    Salary range is very low compared to local market particularly with expertise.
    The panel of interviewers are medium level of experience and they bring up a lot of non-sense questions particularly if the candidate is higher potential.
    They called me for another job role after four months of applying to schedule interview, later on with another two months they sent me rejection without interview.
    I attended with ESB around three interviews before, in all my impression was not up to average level, in one of the interviews I have attend with them, one of the panel was so nervous and tense when he asked question to me and more often to interrupt your talk.
    Majority of the panel are waiting for some answers matching their mindset perhaps this a reason why they do not develop their system as well.
    Level of Electrical Engineering is not the top, so you should be expertise who has worked abroad or self-learner.
    The HR employees who are calling at first time to schedule interview are talking in eagle and disrespectful wa, not to mention they will provide you with only one slot to attend.
    The bottom line, the recruitment process is so so long perhaps the longest all over the world this why they are getting stuck with expertise.
    I don't recommend this company to work in, unfortantely because they are the main provider of electricity in Ireland this why they are non-professional in handling the recruitment process.

    Very well maintained interviewers. Asked general questions and made me feel at ease. Started with a case study and was given 15 min time to prepare and then present. Techinical as well as personal questions were asked.

    The process took weeks from the initial application stage. Received a phone screen and was asked to attend an interview the following week. The interview process was based off the S.T.A.R method. Very formal and structured. You will most likely be interviewed by a panel of 3 people. One person starts by introducing the panel. Then their all take a couple of minutes to ask you competency based questions one after another. Found it all too formal. Didn't feel like a conversation at all. More like an interrogation. One of the interviewers a younger woman looked extremely disinterested throughout the whole process which was very off putting. I didn't find the overall process to be very enjoyable. Nice office and building all the same though..
