Started off by applying online. Had a telephone interview, then got invited to a centre interview where I met with the regional manager who asked me basic interview questions “Why Explore Learning?” “What I bring to Explore Learning?” Then got the opportunity to interact with the children which I really enjoyed! Then received a phone call a few later inviting me to an Assessment Day in Guildford the day started off with a intro the company. Then we went off into different groups as we had different activities at different times. We were told to prepare for a 5 minute presentation make sure you research the company values and what they’ve achieved etc. We also had to do a maths and English test which was fairly straight forward probably go on to bbc Bitesize and brush up on your maths. All in all was a really good day and enjoyed it and received a phone call a few days later telling me I got the job.

    Good communication before and after assessment day. Friendly staff. Varied activities throughout the day, with a tough business based group task at the end of the day.

    They are keen on giving feedback throughout such as after a roleplay activity, and they analyse your reaction to this.

    Questions were often scenario based, and concerned more with your own thoughts and opinions rather than past experiences.

    I applied online and was invited for a centre interview. The interview lasted almost 2 hours and I was shown around the centre, had a casual interview where I was asked basic interview style questions, completed a role play, received feedback and completed it again, and finally was able to spend 10/15 minutes with the kids at the end.

    While I wasn't invited for the assessment day, I found the interview to be an extremely positive experience. The company seemed really dedicated to the educational service they're providing and while the experience made me sure that I do not want to work with children, the interview was enjoyable and the feedback you receive is very helpful.

    I interviewed at the Newcastle centre and the centre director there named Chris was really a testament to the company success. His passion for his job really shone through and made the position seem like an exciting opportunity even though it wasn't for me.

    The assessment day down in Guilford was really productive, unlike other interviews, I felt really welcomed, less stressed and really enjoyed meeting the EL team. Prior to the interview, I felt well prepared as I had an email outlining what was happening on the day so I could plan in advance and know what to expect.

    I found the assessment day enjoyable. All the recruitment staff were really friendly and put you at ease from the very start. The day started off with a presentation about the company and the role. We then had to do a basic maths and english test, a 1 to 1 interview and then another interview where we did a role play and a presentation about how we'd help EL achieve their goals as Assistant Director. After all of this we had a short group activity. They called me and offered me a job the next day.

    It started at 9:30am and lasted until 2pm. The dy started with them doing a 30 min presentation. Then we were sat in a communal area and given a timetable of when our interviews would be. There was a 30 min slot to do a numeracy and literacy test which was fairly simple. Then there was two one-to-two interviews which lasted 30 mins each. One you gave a 5 min presentation and then completed a role play of selling explore learning to a customer. The second was just a general chat about your skills & experiences and then a scenario based question. Finally, the day ended with a group activity where you had to make a 3 point plan to promote the sales of Explore Learning.

    The process started with an online application, I was then invited to my local centre for a face to face interview. This stage helps you see the centre in action and gives you a real idea if the role is for you. I was asked to prepare for a roleplay where we had to sell a gym membership. Don't worry about remembering specific details like the cost etc. as they are looking to see how you build relationships to secure a trial. They then give you time to meet the children and watch how you interact with them.

    I received an email a few days later to confirm I have been invited to the assessment day in Guildford. Prior to the day we received an email with tasks that needed to be completed. Initially it seemed quite daunting, but once arriving at the day I was made to feel at ease. It started with a welcome tour then a basic maths/ english test (I found looking on KS3 BBC Bitesize helped). We then had to create a presentation stating how our skills helped contribute to the company's visions. Next was the role play, interview questions and group activity. Don't be disheartened if you do not secure a free trial.
    All in all it was a positive day and gave me invaluable interview experience.

    I enjoyed the process. Summarised it by relaxing, friendly, informative, supportive. The day started with a presentation and introduction into the company, then a personal interview with a member of the recruitment team. Then, gave a presentation on the company's key vision and completed a sales roleplay. I had to then do a Maths and English screener. Then finished off with a group task. The day was split up with breaks so had time to recuperate and gather thoughts.

    After a simple online application I was invited for an assessment session at a nearby centre. This involved a tour, a chat about the role, myself, my experiences and interests, a role play where I had to cold sell a gym membership, and some time where I was observed working with the children. I was then put through to a group assessment day in Guildford which involved a general interview, a role play and presentation interview, a simple literacy and numeracy test, and a group task.
