After completing initial online testing, the first round interview involved an in-house excel test and an interview with a member of HR. Questions included: why Fastset? why Finance? difference between IM & IB? how do they use Factset differently? Overview of your CV; a couple of competency questions. The next stage was an assessment day, with about 10 other candidates. the day began at 1pm and finished at 5pm. The assessment included a software demo, which you are tested on afterwards. we then had a chance to meet with a couple of consultants to ask questions and get a better understanding of the organisation. Candidates were then split into two groups, where we partook in a group exercise prioritising a list of tasks ( we had 20 minutes to do this and present). We finally had to present a 10 minute micro teach which we were told to prepare for beforehand. I felt this was the most important part of the assessment, as it demonstrates your ability to communicate a concept clearly, which would be your job as a consultant. The final stage involved shadowing a consultant as they deal with clients at the helpdesk, and a final interview with two senior consultants from IB and IM. This interview was a lot more intense that the first, with a lot of questions around your previous experience and why it relates to Factset. They also test you on your Financial knowledge, so keep up to date with what is going on in the financial news. This interview lasted between 45 mins- 1 hour.
