Entretien
First a recruiter reached out to me and we have a chat about the company and my goals. I clarified about the option for remote work, team culture, tech stack, salary range etc. Then I was given a take home challenge. It is a front end application with Node.js backend and JS frontend. Socket.io is used to transmit some events. Task is to implement functions to make it listen to different kind of events.
The take home challenge will take more time then they say i.e. 4 hours for most engineers. I used my weekend to give a detailed solution. The recruiter gets back to me with a reject with a very generic unfortunately it's not a right fit reply. I asked for some details then he told me they were expecting unit tests and edge cases which are not mentioned in the exercise and it's really hard to guess which ones are expected.
It is a sheer waste of time at the end. There are better unicorn startups that one can apply to and which value the number of hours an engineer would put in this test. I would discourage anybody reading this post to give this challenge.

3rd Coding round which recruiter mentioned will be algorithms and leetcode however turns out it is real world problem[more like simulation of their messaging system] based questions also a miscommunication in preferred language I mentioned vs what interviewer was prepared for.
Company needs to find standards on this coding round which apparently is very newly introduced round in their interview process
RUN!!!! Very high egos (their core values include low ego and all I saw was a high ego and no respect)! Over 8 rounds of interviews and simple/basic questions that seemed incredibly biased. One interviewer was flat-out rude to me and clearly did not want me to succeed at any cost. I won't even endorse their product at this point since their culture book is a joke based on my experience.

Contacted by recruiter to set up initial call. Recruiter cancelled at last minute and asked to postpone without giving option for when rescheduling. Told me I would be contacted early next week with more details. Waited until the next Thursday to contact the recruiter again so that I could be told the position was cancelled. Absolute waste of time. Recruiter has no respect for applicant time.
