    Entretien de Canvasser

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
    Offres d'embauche déclinées
    Expérience neutre
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 jours. J'ai passé un entretien à Fund for the Public Interest.

    Entretien

It was a really, really easy set of interviews. First, I got a phone call, then I met with an interviewer in-person. The questions are basically what you'd expect from a non-profit looking to recruit. They will tell you about their current campaign that you will be working on. The whole interview is probably scripted, but that's not at all uncommon.

Started out in a group information session online and then had one on one interviews. The interview welcomed me to the team without offering me the job first, it was a little uncomfortable because it caught me off guard.

    Offre d'embauche acceptée

    Entretien facile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien à Fund for the Public Interest (Eugene, OR (États-Unis)) en juin 2018.

    Entretien

The process was very informal, did not even require my resume, just asked to verbally talk about my job and volunteer experiences. The woman interviewing me asked me why I am interested in this job. I was hired on the spot and asked if I had any friends who were interested in applying. Basically, they were desperate and not too picky about who they were hiring. Most informal interview ever.

Employé anonyme - College Park, MD (États-Unis)
    Offre d'embauche acceptée
    Expérience positive
    Entretien facile

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 5 jours. J'ai passé un entretien à Fund for the Public Interest (College Park, MD (États-Unis)) en mai 2018.

    Entretien

3-5 day process. Applied online, received a phone call for a brief phone screening the following day. Scheduled an in-person interview for days later. The interview was more or less just a chance to meet you in-person. You are scheduled for an observation which is where you're skills really need to come in.

    Entretien de Canvasser

Employé anonyme - Washington, DC (États-Unis)
    Offre d'embauche acceptée
    Expérience neutre
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien à Fund for the Public Interest (Washington, DC (États-Unis)) en avril 2018.

    Entretien

The interview process isn't really an interview process. They take just about anyone. Once you are done with the "stage one" interview which is in person with one of the directors, your "second interview" is what's called the "observation day", where you are taken out into the field and you have to get at least one contribution. If you manage that, then you begin your training days (at this point you still haven't made staff). There are three training days, and on one of those days you must make $150, not combined to the other days, and THEN you will be considered "staff".

    Offre d'embauche acceptée
    Expérience positive
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à Fund for the Public Interest (Chapel Hill, NC (États-Unis)).

    Entretien

Very casual on campus interest meeting containing general information about the organization followed by interview and invitation for an observation day. Phone interview with office director containing getting to know you questions. First day of work is "observational day" where you shadow a canvasser and eventually do your own canvassing. Directors expect you to earn a contribution on your first day to get offered a position although it is not required.

    Entretien de Canvasser

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - New York, NY (États-Unis)
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience négative
    Entretien dificile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien à Fund for the Public Interest (New York, NY (États-Unis)) en juillet 2013.

    Entretien

I applied online and they called me back the next day. I set up an interview for the next week. I arrived at the location and was surprised to see how the office was very... unfurnished. The walls were bare except for some posters and it basically looked like a studio going through renovations. That should have been my first warning. There were only 3 other people there for the interview. The interviewer lady gave us a brief description of the job description. Basically, she tried to embellish her words to hide the fact that you do not get the advertised $11- $17 a day you saw on the craigslist post.

Apparently, there is a quota you have to meet before you get that much. Otherwise, you get (according to her) "no less than minimum wage." Which basically means they're only willing to give the exact minimum wage -________-

We had to make a phone call to the governor's office and leave a message about banning fracking. It was quite awkward. I thought that the job was going to be actually working outside in the environment or doing an eco-friendly project, but apparently, the most important "job" is to ask people for money...

I was very disappointed that this was all we were going to do and it showed during my individual interview. They were not willing to be flexible for work hours either. They said 9am to 6 or 7pm I think. At that point, I didn't want the job any more. She said I would be contacted if they picked me. Overall it was a bad experience. I felt like it was a waste of time.
