Good stuff. 22 Jan 18 - Interviewed with an engineer who came across as very cold and pretentious. Interviewer did not provide enough time for me to ask questions and was completely uninterested in hearing about my open source contributions. He was clearly only interested in seeing whether or not I could implement a double linked list ASAP which I did without any issues but it didn't seem to be enough. The interaction we had explored all the aspects I feel are flawed with technical interviews in this industry. 20 Jan 18 - Email asking for availability and ended up talking with recruiter which went well - she was very nice but I was kinda put off by the questions because they seemed to priotize work obsession over anything else like "How many hours do you code every week or every day?" 10 Oct 17 - Applied online through the Google careers site Google had reached out to me several times in the past but their flawed interview process that doesn't focus on anything besides typical whiteboard problems had always put me off. The proof is in the pudding, it seems.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I had 5 rounds of interview discussion. I had a great time talking to all the Googlers. The coding rounds were pretty simple and practicing leetcode problems really helped. There were many non-tech questions related to the role. Everything is available online. If you have the right experience, you can read and learn from all of those resources to ace the interviews.
