    Candidature

J'ai postulé via une recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris +8 mois. J'ai passé un entretien à HFF.

    Entretien

Three rounds of interviews in which I met with every employee in the office. I networked with the team I was interviewing with prior to interviews. Interviews were focused on whether I was a good fit culturally. Little to no focus on financial skills.

Short 30 minute interview in office, large amount of people interviewing. Very conversation based. Interviewed by one person from every level at their office. All personality based questions, much more focused on culture fit than technical abilities.

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris +3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien à HFF (Austin, TX (États-Unis)).

    Entretien

It was a 3 round process- one over the phone and two in person at the office.

It was very laid back- met with everyone on the recruitment committee and was behavioral based. Their number one priority is if you're a good personality fit.

    Entretien

Two phone calls, one with a single analyst then one with a group of analysts that each asked a couple questions. Both the interview with the single analyst and group were just questions and they didn't seem to want to be conversational. Then one final in office interview with the different teams.

J'ai postulé via un établissement de l'enseignement supérieur ou universitaire.. Le processus a pris +3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien à HFF.

    Entretien

My interview process was very involved. I met an HFF team member at a CRE recruiting event for my University and handed off my resume. A week later I was contacted for an interview. After that, over the next few months I spoke with around 20 HFF team members across 3 major offices. I eventually received an offer and accepted the position. Heavily personality based. Technical questions were generally not too challenging. Main focus is on the cultural fit within the company. Definitely took effort preparing well for each conversation.

    Entretien de Graphic Designer

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Portland, OR (États-Unis)
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience négative
    Difficulté moyenne

    Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à HFF (Portland, OR (États-Unis)) en janvier 2019.

    Entretien

I applied online and HFF reached out quickly to set up an initial interview. The first round was me meeting with the office manager and the would-be direct supervisor. They contacted me within a week to set up a second interview to meet with the head of the Portland office and the other employees who worked there. The interviews were not particularly difficult, and I seemed to hit it off well with everyone for the most part (and they made sure to tell me time and time again that new hires "fitting in" with everyone was important to them). I left feeling a bit odd about the clique-ish culture, but confident that I would progress in the interview process. Within a couple of days, the office manager requested that I take a personality assessment and send her an example of past work (a packaged InDesign file) to her. She implied (or explicitly stated, I can't quite remember) that this was the last step. While I felt a bit uneasy about sending her an editable version of my intellectual property, I obliged (a job seeker's got to do what a job seeker's got to do). Once I sent it to her, I never heard back. I even tried to send a follow-up email confirming receipt. Crickets. I thought this was incredibly unprofessional and I felt disrespected and taken advantage of. I was willing to overlook the red flags I saw in the interview process in regards to company culture, as I was highly motivated to change jobs at the time. However, looking back, I'm so relieved things ended this way. If this is how they treat potential hires, they must be a horrific company to work for!

One in person interview. Very short. Took most of the time explaining what interns do there. Did not ask many questions to me. Just talk about yourself and them through resume. Why are you interested in real estate?
