Entretien

There were four rounds. First was a mix of role-play and behavioral questions. Second was very short and more behavioral questions. Third was the assessment center. And finally a talk with the director. Overall, everyone was nice and I had a good talk with the manager who led the assessment center. However, the final interview left me puzzled because the director only asked a few questions but then determined they had a good idea of who I was. Then I ended up not getting the job. Their reasoning was because I did not have a sales background. My question is: Why string someone along through four rounds to only decline them for something you would have known just by looking at my resume??????? In the end, waste of time. Don't apply if you have no sales background.

    Applied online, got an email for a phone interview (consisted of behavioral questions and a casual role play), had another phone interview (behavioral questions based on the 4 core values), was set up for an assessment center via Skype. Waiting to hear back from them about the result. Best preparation I can recommend is to a) do extensive research about Hays and its services b) anticipate the interviewer fighting you back during the assessment center - be prepared to provide alternate solutions or persuasive arguments at every step of the way.

    Fantastically run - both informative and challenging. I learnt more about recruitment at each stage, preparing me for the next one. There were several stages including one on one interviews, group interviews, Assessment centre with tasks including a business development call, writing a job advert and selling candidates to clients, so you get a real feel for what the job would entail.

    Long and intense process, took me about 3 months total because there was no actual job when I applied. 4 stages, impromtu phone interview (be prepared!), 2nd round with business manager (know lots about the company values, your sales techniques and to do a role play), 3rd is an assessment centre with 6-8 others (lots of interaction and competitive role playing) 4th is a final review style interview with a reflection on the process so far, assessment of yourself and the values again. Very thorough, know your CV and be prepared for some friendly competition.

    I had a telephonic interview followed by an interview with branch manager then a presentation with two of the regional directors. It was a very efficient and quick process and I was kept informed throughout. I felt comfortable the entire time and enjoyed the process. I start in a weeks time and look forward to starting my career with Hays.

    I went into the office for an initial first stage interview. It was what I was expecting, we did a bit of role play and I was asked why recruitment and why Hays in particular. They were looking to hire quite soon so instead of the assessment day I was asked back to the office for an individual assessment day type scenario. I did some more role play in front of the Director and Business Manager.

    Very strategic interview process, gets the mind thinking about scenarios and allows you to demonstrate your expertise. I was proposed with making a presentation about why I wanted to work for Hays and had to present that to a regional Director, I then had a further meeting to personally offer me the position which made me feel part of the team.
