Phone Interview, followed by group interview, followed by director. Most important thing is personality and fit towards a sales job. Ambition is also valued and ability to meet targets.

    I submitted my cover letter and CV. Immediately the next day, I received an email asking if I would be free for a short call, just basic questions like what is my degree, where my I studying and my availability. Then soon I was scheduled for a Video Interview from HK HR, then Video Interview with the Headd of Office in the applied Office. The interview process was being done within 2 weeks, however, I was given my offer after 2 months of the interview.

    • 1. Motivation 2. Career Aspiration 3. Expectations towards the role. They asked a lot about why would you be interested in HR consultancy. They are very particular about your commitment in the work, and I appreciate very much that they are very transparent about their job nature, I was being told very frankly that the job will require me to be engaged in administrative work and I shall be expected to work on different tasks on an ad-hoc basis.     Applied online through the career website and heard back the next 3 days.
    The recruiter called me via phone to ask basic screening questions: where I live, citizenship to check whether I was a native or international student, why interested in the company, etc
    Didn't pass the phone screening since I wasn't prepared enough to give good answers at an unexpected time.

    The first filtering process was a phone interview and she was very pleasant to speak to. She answered all of my questions clearly and mind you, I had a lot. Then, we scheduled a f2f interview with the Internal Recruiter. After speaking to her for about 40 minutes, she called in the Regional Director to meet with me. I got a phone call the next day to see whether I would be interested for the intern position.

    The whole process took about 3 days. I kid you not. They work fast.

    From the day I first contacted Hays to when i started my first day of my internship, it was very fast moving. It started at the career fair in my university, then an open day with a phone interview as a follow-up. The entire procedure was very quick and efficient.

    -Online application- send off CV
    -Telephone interview with internal recruiter, basically to see if you can hold a conversation over the phone
    -Interview- Generally with a manager- I did with a director, have a conversation about your experience- a few competency based questions, a role play task of selling your service to a client then given feedback then a second try (the important think is to be persistent and listen to the feedback and apply it, they know you don't know much about how to do it, they look for potential)
    - Assessment centre- with 4-16 other people, one director and an internal recruiter- (think on your feet, research the company well, learn the four key values)- individual tasks, present yourself and why hays should hire you, write a job advert (look online at hays job adverts for this task before hand) role play phone conversation with a prospective client, then role play meeting with the client (can use imagination, if given a candidate and trying to sell them to the client, make up a back story)
    -Final interview with directors at the office you applied to- show how eager you are and how much potential, ask questions such as their personal journey through the company, be receptive and listen.
    Most important thing is to seem passionate and eager.

    Preliminary 'open day' by invitation following a phone interview, like a relaxed assessment centre. Followed by another assessment centre and finally a face to face interview. All very positive, challenging tasks at times but all employees were very helpful and welcoming.

    - Telephone interview - was a bit unexpected as I called in to ask a question and ended up being interviewed without really knowing. It went okay nonetheless but I was honest about not being prepared and didn't try and blag it.

    - Assessment centre with internal recruiters
    - Final 1-2-1 with a director

    I went through quite a few interviews with all of them relating to the team and functions that i was placed in. I was also asked alot of questions aside from the job itself regarding my passions and what i do day in day out which was pretty unique to me, as compared to the interviews from other companies i attended.

    Firstly I sent my cv in via email, then I had a telephone interview which was short and not very technical, after this I then attended an open day was very informative and sold Hays to me it also contained group tasks, then I attended an assessment centre where I was put on the spot in a situation with a client in terms of business development and then when trying to place a candidate.
