    The hiring process was fairly straightforward, just as you'd expect from such a large company. I was scouted by an existing employee for a position that was shortly followed up with by an interview at the Reading office.

    The interview process was fairly informal, taking place over coffee. The questions asked varied greatly from high level industry experience down to the nitty gritty of how various designs are used in indusry today.

    Lots of questions regarding the industry, opinions of Huawei and their current competition. In particular, where I saw the industry going in the next few years.

    Huawei COC was looking for a Chinese mandarin speaker so the interview was processed with Chinese mandarin. A simple Excel quiz was presented at first then after 20 mins, team leads were asking interview questions. Whole process took around 1 hour as there were more than one interviewers. Also they explained a lot of detail of the role and the company.

    Phone call with a recruiter. Brief phone call with a rival recruiter trying to poach me. More phone calls with my recruiter. Interview at Huawei, UK. Guy was stressed out. We had a communication issue in both English and Chinese and he didn’t give me any examples of what kind of orders we would be handling- phones, watches, routers, optical fibre...volume...frequency..? Come on! Please give me even the slightest idea of what this job would involve; the interview was dead for me at that point. It devolved into him pointing at the recruiter’s figure for my expected salary on a piece of paper and him basically saying “you know there’s a lot of overtime involved will you do it for this?” I already knew there would be overtime because I learned from Glassdoor that is their company culture and said I was willing to do it of course...but not for that figure because that’s basically my current salary which I gave to the recruiter as an absolute minimum. He asked me so what would you do this for? I said £2000 more. Then I pretty much got out of there and told the recruiter I wasn’t interested even if they did offer. If you can’t communicate well with your interviewer who will be your boss because they seem stressed out and they are unwilling to tell you more than the job description and recruiter has already told you (nothing), plus the salary is basically the same then it’s definitely not worth the risk.

    Submitted CV weeks later an agent called and set up an interview with a very senior member of management . Interview was informal and took place in a public area in the office so difficult to talk or hear.. Promised feedback in a week , month later got invited to meet a board member , very unstructured interview again promised feedback in 2 weeks. Since then nothing .. not a post I've experience

    Major communication issues. The interviewers were less than proficient in English and I had a majorly difficult time to understand the questions. The interview was very different from what I had been told to expect by the recruiter, in terms of the technologies, experience and the actual work involved. Once the interview was over, they did not let me leave the room, so that they could privately discuss the result with a senior manager based in China. I was unsurprisingly rejected by the senior Engineer, who I was told had been listening in on the interview without my knowledge. To be honest, it was one of the strangest experiences I have had. I doubt I would have accepted the role.

    Very efficient , professional but not difficult. First round telephone interview by the agent; second by Huawei Managements and third by VP of **BG. However it did take two weeks for the agent to get back to me if it was a yes.

    Assessment day consisted of a group exercise where you produce a presentation, a panel interview and an individual exercise analysing data from an excel spreadsheet.
    The interview was the hardest part as it was not made very clear which area of the business they were hiring for/what exactly the role would entail. There were also a number of communication issues as english was not the first language for many of the assessors.

    Before the interview I was given a data analysis task and asked to prepare a couple of slides on previous related experience. I was interviewed by two staff members in turn. Overall the atmosphere was very friendly compared to previous interviews I have attended and I was made to feel at ease.

    20-30 minute bus ride from Reading station. First interview consisted of 3 people, one being the HR manager. Questions on past experiences of why you may suit the role. Going through your CV. The second interview was with the CFO mainly going through your CV. Very nice offices in a great looking town.

    However, was told that they would send an acceptance/rejection notice a week after the interview, but was actually given 25 days after the second interview. Rejected after given feedback that they liked everything citing lack of specific experience for the role. My CV lists everything I've done which they said they liked which was why I was given chances for interviews in the first place. Why send candidates to Reading for interviews if you know already what experience they have? Sure, you get interview experience but it's not a learning point at the interview stage if they reject you purely from not having experience, which they already knew in the first place. Waste of time, waste of £24 and building up hope for nearly a month instead of just rejecting me straight after the interviews. Long and painful death that was.

    If you have experience in project management you should apply, but if not, don't bother.
