I was contacted by a screener shortly after I applied. We had a 30 minute conversation, which was recorded. Questions mostly centered on acceptance of job description - salary, travel demands, etc. I was scheduled for a 2nd round a few days later, during which I had to give a presentation and answer some basic questions about my background and how I prepared for the presentation. At the end of that, I was scheduled to speak with a VP for a 3rd round. I thought this was all going well, given the multiple rounds and the feedback I received. And then - they ghosted me. Zero communication. Not even a "thanks but no thanks" email template. I sent follow up emails after each round, and none of them were replied to. It was all really disappointing.
- Give a 5-10 min presentation on one of their products. Why do you want to move to Imagine Learning? Why are you a good fit for this job?

I applied online and received an invitation to speak with the recruiter within a business day. The interview was recorded and sent to the hiring manager, and I was invited to interview with the manager the following week. The recruiter demonstrated behavior that I found to be unusually assertive for this early in the hiring process. She texted me within a few hours of sending the follow up invitation via email to ask me to send my availability ASAP. She also wanted to debrief me over the phone to help me "prep" for my interview with the supervisor. I also received a good luck email prior to my interview with the supervisor and was told I would be contacted again to debrief the interview. I didn't hear back from the recruiter after my interview with the hiring manager. My sense was that the recruiter either, 1) thought I was a strongly qualified candidate more so than the actual manager, or 2) was experiencing pressure or being incentivized to fill this position ASAP. I noticed that the recruiter's email handle was from a HR consulting company, not from Imagine Learning. So, I'm not sure if their HR practices involve working with external vendors for recruitment, but I ultimately wonder if there was a disconnect between the recruiter's vision of a strong candidate versus the hiring manager's vision for the qualified candidate in this role. Or, the hiring manager just didn't like me, which is totally possible. After receiving all of these personalized touch points from the recruiter, I received a generic system email with the rejection letter a few days following my interview. I asked the recruiter for general feedback about why I did not advance in the process as and never heard back. While I appreciated that they stuck to a quick and clear timeline, this experience with the recruiter ultimately made it a negative experience; it felt like the recruiter was leading me to believe I was a stronger candidate for this role than I was. I'm not sure if these are trendy new hiring practices that they're trying to implement, but it ultimately felt a bit unprofessional.
- Why Imagine Learning? What experience do you have with social science research methods like RCTs and quasi-experimental studies?

Wasn't "wowed" by the interview team. Seemed lack luster and was missing the degree of personality that I prefer when seeking a job change. Interviewers we're nice but it felt very robotic and I was concerned that would translate to the job as well.
- Don't remember the interview questions ver batem, but we're very standard.

Screening interview at the job fair about data structures and then an online interview about web development topics. Their company is going fully remote so you can expect all interactions to be online.
- Questions were focused on maintainability of software, questions about DNS servers and how requests are resolved.

There were multiple levels of discussions with HR, hiring manager, and dev. Their interviews with dev are not good and they showed little to no empathy for candidates. It was a ruthless show of elitism at it's finest - egos abound here. Would not recommend wasting your time.
- Why do you think you're a good fit for the company?

An analyst reached out after application was submitted. Analyst conducted a questionnaire before sending information to another person to schedule interview. It was over the phone and took 30 minutes. Questions were appropriate for position. I did asked both the analyst and hiring specialist about salary negotiation. Both seem to not provide a direct answer.
- Comfort and skill level using technology?

Received and invitation to complete a video interview 2 hours after applying. Completed that night and received a request for a phone interview the next day. Scheduled the phone interview and was not asked a single question during it other than if I was ok with the salary that was extremely low for the position. Interviewer stated they were "looking for someone just like me" which I thought was odd since they didn't even attempt to get to know me. She then scheduled another interview at the end of the call that was two days later with her supervisor. They gave me a project to complete and go over during that interview. Again, they didn't ask me a single question about myself and were really short and standoffish. I was then ghosted for almost 2 weeks and when I emailed to inquire about where they were in the process, I was ignored and sent a general email telling me I was no longer being considered. I will never interview with this company again and was so disheartened by the entire experience.

A 30-minute Zoom screener call with a recruiter three days after submitting an application. A week later there was a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager who only asked 3 questions.
- What do you enjoy about being a product manager and what do you dread about being a product manager?

I had two interviews. The first was a screening interview with a team director. The second was with the team leader, so it was a bit more in depth. I felt great about both interviews, as both interviewers were friendly and encouraging. My second interview took place on a Friday, and I was told I'd be contacted by the following Monday. I never heard from them again. I had even waited two weeks, hoping they simply got busy, and ended up reaching out to my interviewers to inquire about any updates in the process. I was completely ignored. A similar situation happened to a colleague of mine who interviewed with Imagine Learning for a tech position. There was no e-mail, call, or any sort of communication regarding a rejection. They just never spoke to us again. It was a disheartening experience to say the least.
- Q: How would you handle a customer complaint?

I only made it through the first round and the 2nd part which was a project. The first round was just basic screening questions, and the project allowed you to answer questions while showing your creative side
