Received email and set up Skype call with recruiter. Very professional and friendly. Gave me an overview of the company and the role and we then talked through my resume where she was interested in finding about my responsibilities and also my reason for leaving for my most recent two companies. I think the job is potentially too junior for me so I won't be continuing, but it was a positive interview experience overall.

Found job on Linkedin and reached out via email about the Sales Manager job posting and received a request to send in my resume for review. I was contacted that night by the Senior Recruiter and we spoke for over an hour about the job, my experience and compensation in general terms. She then indicated I would hear from the VP of Sales the following day via phone, which I did and we spoke for 30 minutes and was told I would be hearing from HR about the next steps. That same day, HR called and to schedule a 3 hour 3-4 person interview session the following Tuesday and I would be sent a case study to finish prior to meeting with them. I spent about 2-3 hours doing the case study which was a metric based scenario, and 2 change management type questions that were pretty straight forward. They wanted this and all online applications completed prior to the scheduled interview, which I did. I met with 3 people, VP Sales, Client Service Manger, and GM who all were great people. They had me walk up my case study and explain my thought process and the basic culture fit and STAR type questions. I had more then enough experience as I have managed teams from 20 to 250 and their current target range was 10 people for year one. I was told they would meet later that day and decide if they wanted to move forward in the process as it had to be a unanimous decision from all involved to move forward. I received a call later that evening from an HR person from corporate to have a Skype interview with the COO and VP of HR. We traded 4 phone calls that day to fit in the interview for the current week as they wanted to fill the position ASAP. I cancelled and moved three of my appointments to have the interview on Wed at 9:15am. Later that same night at 6:30 pm I got a call from the two Senior Recruiters to discuss what to expect from the COO and VP of HR and how I might answer some of their questions and what they each were looking for from a candidate. A quasi roll play if you would say.. I was ready for the Skype interview at 9:15, and the clock ticked away until 9:30 when I called one of the recruiters and got their VM, then at 9:40 I called the Senior Recruiter and left a VM as to what was going on and if things have changed. I got a call back in 4 minutes from the Senior Recruiter stating "Their meeting went over and sorry, but we are rethinking the position and they are not sure how they want to position to look at this time". I asked "What happened, did they not like what they saw in my resume?" She indicated no, but she would get back to me in a week or so as more information became available. The whole process was professional until the planned meeting with the COO and VP of HR, as things turned into a total joke and waste of everyone's time and energy. If they did not want to move farther along with me, just do the right thing and say "your not a fit or whatever" but to not call and say we will call you in a week or two and I then see the job posted on Linkedin by the recruiter the next day, its demonstrates a total lack of professionalism and truly thankful I did not move forward with them in the job process. If you are this dysfunctional on the basic level of hiring a Sales Manger, god only knows what happens from an overall operational perspective. Hey they got a FREE case study on how to improve productivity by 30% without an increase in head count or cost, you welcome.

Basic case study explanation, and culture fit questions. The people I interviewed with were very bright and knew their stuff.
