    Overall it was the worst interview process I’ve been through in my professional life, and also the strangest one.
    Twice I was interviewed for a position that didn’t exist. These people don’t seem to be able to keep track of what’s happening with their hiring. On both occasions I was took very soon after that the role didn’t exist anymore without giving any explanation and complete disregard to my time.
    The interview itself is weird. There’s a technical part which is very CV focused, and you have to give a presentation about yourself to this large panel of people, half of which seem unengaged and sleepy from the start. The questions are textbook taken from an interview tutorial rather than targeted for the candidate profile. The interviewers (I can’t even count how many I’ve seen) could benefit from some training in giving interviews.
    The worse bit is the “feedback” they give is imaginary. I was given one with didn’t correspond to the questions I was asked, suggesting maybe my application was mixed up with someone else’s.
    In all, a poor experience and a total waste of time reminiscent of the experience you get shopping on the online supermarket.

    Very strange experience. First they invited me for one hour technical interview with senior manger, which I cleared. After that three different HR persons contacted me every week asking for my availability for next round of interview. I added this to there calendar multiple times but these HR guys vanished every time after asking me about my availability. I even sent them email multiple times but they never responded. Then after wasting my time and hanging me in there for 3 weeks they just me this email that the position is filled and my application is no longer under consideration.

    • In first interview, it was with senior manager who asked about different concepts of Java, theory behind different data structures like hash maps, heaps etc, after that he asked scenario based questions. The guy was quite nice and was helping in understanding of the question.   Répondre à cette question

    The first interview was pretty nice and the recruiter has explained me the process and the opportunities very clearly. Unfortunatly the second round was awful with a online 1 hour programming exercice with the tech people here (the best way of pushing people and reach them to fail).
    I would recommand ocado to change that process, as non native British for instance I need more time to read and understanding well. Maybe giving the subject and let people think and come back would be a better way

    I was sent an email to schedule a short phone call.
    The recruiter didn't call. Then she told me she had an emergency.
    We had a follow-up call. The recruiter told me that she's going to schedule an onsite interview for the next week. This didn't happen.
    Two weeks late the recruiter told me apologizing for that and telling me that they are having another candidate, but they are interested in inviting me to an interview. 3/4 weeks later they are still interested :) however, I already got 3 competitive offers from others...

    I got contacted by an employee on LinkedIn. After submitting my CV, I went through a first technical interview with two employees, where I was asked to show my coding skills. I was required to use Java even if I had never used that language before, but the goal of the interview was assessing my skills and reasoning rather than the knowledge of the language, so I was helped with the syntax.
    Other three interviews followed this one, on two different days. I was supposed to take those at the company, but I had to do them online for the virus outbreak. They were a two hours pair programming, a one hour technical interview, and a one hour cultural fit interview - that was pretty much another technical interview.
    I enjoyed the whole process, which was pretty quick, and I liked how everybody was super kind and how they made me feel like a person rather than a number throughout the application process.

    Firstly I got invited to by recruiter to share my availability on calendar. He responded that he couldn't set up an online meeting so I asked him for his phone number to set it up quickly over the phone. Silence for couple weeks. Than he sends me invitation again, so I share my again and he manages to set up session with hiring staff. 2 people asked me to solve quite simple task on codility. After that I got invitation to travel to company's headquarters in Hatfield for all day interview session however they refused to reimburse any travel / accommodation expenses. In response I suggested to have part of this all-day interview done online. So we had another codility session, this time with a team leader and one developer. After that they invited me for cultural meeting in Hatfield with some technical part. I shared possible dates when I can fly to UK but there was no response from recruiter. After 2 weeks he wrote me that they found somebody else. Thanks God I didn't agree at the first time otherwise I would loose money on top of the wasted time.

    After sending CV, I got invited for an online coding test. 2 questions were fairly easy, 3rd one was harder but I had 2h to complete it.

    Later I got invited to an assessment centre. I got 2 tests in the morning, if you don't hit the pass mark you might be sent home early. The first one was a Java test. If you know syntax of the language and basics of DS/Algo you will be fine. The second one was logic-based.
    Pro tip: IF YOU FINISH EARLY, CHECK YOUR ANSWERS. I found about 10 stupid mistakes that could lose me plenty of marks. I remember people finishing early and staring at the ceiling for 30-60 minutes. When I spoke to them, all of them were confident about their performance. They got sent home.

    Later I had two rounds of interviews - one with engineers, one with the hiring manager. The first interview was difficult, we were going very deep into multiple topics and I got asked many questions I had no clue about.

    The interview with the manager was stress-free and focused on my motivation. Standard behavioural questions.
