Very lengthy drawn out process with a nearly 4 hour final interview for a sales role thats not all that complex. Too long for what the role required in my opioid & if you don’t get the job you just wasted a bunch of time.
- Tell us about a time you had a conflict with a manager ?
- Tell us about a time you forgone revenue for a customer?

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez OfferUp (Bellevue, WA) en mai 2022
Super disappointed in the interview process. I went through 7 interviews in a week, just to get ghosted. They claim to value employees, but waste candidates' time. Complete lack of structure for the hiring process! Had my interviews get changed several times throughout the week. Almost seems like they should make the process shorter...
- Tell me about a time you took initiative.

I had two interviews, one with the manager and another with a member of the data science team. Both of these went fine and were pretty typical data science interviews. The recruiter followed up saying congratulations and that they were going to proceed with an offer only to email me back a week later saying they couldn't give me an offer because they don't hire interns remote. I had told them during the interview process I was open to relocating so this caught me off guard. I told her I was open to relocating but then she started giving me excuses saying it was a legal issue and she couldn't even give me an offer letter until I moved to Seattle 2 months later. This was very shady and gave me the impression that she screwed up and was just trying to cover her mistake. I copied the management in on the email chain asking what was going but just got radio silence. I'm guessing in the mean time they gave someone else the offer. Although the actual interview process was fine, overall this was a very negative experience for me.

Phone screen and on site with 4 rounds. The process was smooth and quite standard. All the interviewers were nice and welcoming. The recruiter was also helpful throughout the process.
- Behavioral and Tech Rounds (Algorithms, Data Structures, System Design).

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez OfferUp (Bellevue, WA)
The initial interview was a phone screen, which went okay-ish. I didn’t get a strong sense that the recruiter enjoyed the current state of the company, but I decided not to let that deter me at first. The subsequent interviews were STAR based, which seems like such an antiquated way of interviewing. I felt unnatural giving my answers in such a structured way. I would have preferred to have just a normal convo instead. Everyone was polite and professional, but the STAR structure just made for awkward interactions for me personally.
- Tell me about a time when you disagreed with someone.

It was pretty standard. They were mimicking Amazon in the process. They wanted to follow STAR format. Interviewers seems unprepared. Rounds were easy but the management seems directionless when I asked questions. Those were red flags for me. So, I decided after my last interview to no to join.
- Standard design questions but not enough time to solve 20-25 min per question . Also, the means were to stern. So, won't recommend anyone.

1. Quick phone call with recruiter 2. 1-hr long Zoom call with hiring manager 3. 4 x 45min interview loop via Zoom with 4 different people, including the hiring manager again The first two steps were fine, everything went smoothly and the interviews were scheduled within a week or two. The last step however is where things went awry. First, it took 10 calendar days for them to schedule the interview loop. By that time, all momentum had dissipated for me as I'd also been interviewing with other companies. Before the loop was even set up, my contact in the recruitment team called me for about 30 mins to prep me for the final interview loop. They went over some information and when I asked if they were also going to email this information to me, they seemed a bit irritated, as if I was not taking this seriously. I'd just like to take a quick aside here to note that I've done multiple interview loops like this; they're becoming the standard these days in the Tech world. There is nothing too special about them from one organization to another. Just email me where I can find the company values and I can figure out the rest, thanks. As advised, I prepared my STAR answers according to the exhaustive list of company values that were provided to me. I had one story for each particular value (just under 20 total). Everyone I met during the loop was very friendly and nice, however they kept repeating the same questions as previous interviewers in the loop. By the end of the ~4 hours, I'd shared the same stories multiple times but had not had an opportunity to share most of the stories I'd prepared. This left me with the feeling that I was set up to fail, and I already knew I wouldn't be receiving an offer. Less than two days later I received a phone call, telling me that the team had "decided to pass" on me. Now, I've been rejected from my fair share of jobs. I think most people have. But I have never been rejected so dismissively as in this instance.
- Typical behavioral questions "tell me about a time when..."

Recruiter phone screen, hiring manager phone screen, 4 video interviews. Everyone was super nice and seemed passionate about the work. Weird part was that after the interview they just ghost you if they don’t make an offer.
- Tell me about a time when you used data to solve a problem.
- Tell me about a time you had to make a difficult tradeoff
- Tell me about what you would provide in a product requirements document for engineering

Initial phone screen followed by a technical SQL round and several rounds of interviews after. Interviews were heavy on situational and behavioral questions (use STAR method) and ended up being repetitive. Took a long time to get a response after final round and saw the posting refreshed, seems they are interested in farming resumes instead of filling the position.
- Why do you want to work here?

The hiring manager found me on LinkedIn and reached out, so I was set up to speak with him first. They moved really quickly to get everything scheduled, with is great on the applicant side. They moved me to the next round, but I had to ask to speak with the recruiter to get more details about compensation and benefits. The interview loop was pretty standard. I felt things went well, but they did not extend an offer. They did not provide any feedback and I'm really not sure what they are looking for.
- All standard behavioral, STAR method questions.
