      Entretien

Just want to start off by saying this review may be different since its for the design side and NOT for the sales reviews that i've been seeing a lot of. Also, the team members that in person seem to be very nice and supportive. Round 1: Started off with a phone call from a recruiter to screen and to see if the candidate would be a good fit. Pretty standard - Just them talking about the company and them asking why Peloton and the reason you might be leaving your current role. Round 2: Video call with the VP of product and ux. In this, you walk that person through your portfolio. The person will ask detailed questions about the project. If that person thinks you explained yourself well then you will move on. The person said they will have the recruiter reach out to me. The recruiter gets back to me a week later saying they want to proceed. Round 3: Take home design challenge. Its a pretty big project and they said it should take 3-4 hours, but the requirements and asks can easily go up to 8 hours. Definitely have to choose what cases to design for and how much effort to put into it as there are A LOT of edge cases. They don't give any set requirements as to what assets they wanted, but i provided one big flow with screens and edge cases. Another week passes by - I hear back saying they want to bring me in to present. Round 4 [4 hours in person] : 3 weeks after the previous round I go in to present your challenge to the panel that has product, design, and engineers. They will ask you some questions as to why you did it that way. Be prepared to defend your design and reasoning. Should be a breeze if you did the design in an intuitive manner. However, if you designed some of the cases poorly, then i would expect you to be grilled. I misunderstood one of the edge cases but we shopped it together on a whiteboard during the presentation which was nice. Overall, I thought the design challenge and presentation was relatively easy. I did not prepare for this presentation since it has been 3 weeks since the last round. After, you will get lunch and get a short tour of the office. After lunch, you will have a few one on ones with each department: product, design, engineer for about an hour. You may receive a quick design challenge on a whiteboard with them. I thought it was average and not difficult if you have the experience. I do see one of the engineering challenges being difficult if you have never worked closely with engineers on your team before. The quick product white boarding challenge was fairly straight forward if you understand best practices for ux. The last part was with the designer and that was probably the easiest since it was more question based. After 4 hours, i finally leave and wait to hear back. A week goes by and i get a call. In short, I got an offer but we mutually agreed it may not be the best fit for me since I was looking for something else. If you have time to go through this interview process, make sure you have the time and patience. It took around 6 weeks to get through everything. I think the design challenge was interesting and a good way to exercise your knowledge. The digital team there seems to be full of nice and supportive people. Would consider applying again in the near future!

I applied through a third-party recruiter. Peloton's internal recruiter then reached out for a phone screen. After I passed that, I presented my portfolio to the head of design. I didn't pass that stage, but if I had, they would have assigned a take-home design challenge that I would have presented to their product and design team. They move quickly.

Connected with recruiter for a short call. The recruiter was very clearly reading through a script. It felt so unnatural. None of the follow up questions were related to my answers. Overall, a very strange experience and I felt like a dodged a bullet.

This was, by far, one of the most exhausting and absurd interview processes I have been part of. No transparency, lack of clarity, and several hours invested transformed this experience into a dreadful one. I was requested, in total, for at least 10 interviews + a case study and a presentation in front of 8 people. All in the context of a pandemic, and while still working full-time. If this is the way they treat candidates, I cannot imagine the work environment.
