I honestly had a great experience. I worked with Ouliana, the Director of Talent, through out the entire process. She was always transparent and very communicative through out the entire process. I always knew where I stood with Quid and what the next steps were. I felt like Quid was genuinely invested in finding my strengths and interests.
All the engineers that I met with were smart, motivated, and possessed a genuine desire to see the company succeed. It was great to get to know them.
The process for me went something like this...
Phone call with Ouliana where she went over my background and future goals. She then talked about Quid as a product, the company, and the engineering team. She was one of the most technical non-engineers that I had spoken with. Usually recruiters are pretty clueless about technology, not the case here. I had a through understand of the tech stack, technical challenges, and day to day of the engineering team.
Phone call with one of the engineers, I spoke with John. He was great. John went over in more detail about what I was recently working on and the products/features that I was building. He then went over the day to day, some of the cool things that his team has been working on, and how the product is evolving. He gave me an opportunity to ask questions.
Tech Screen was next. They use HackerRank. I've used this before so I knew my way around. This was fairly standard and I enjoyed solving the problems. They varied in degree of difficulty and I found the last one to be the hardest. Ouliana responded to me an hour after I submitted the test.
She let me know that I did well here because I was then invited to come onsite.
Onsite. Met with John and a few other guys from his team. I went to lunch with a few folks as well that were from other teams. I really liked this and enjoyed getting to know other people in the company.
I came back again to meet with the VPE, because he was on PTO, and he was very energetic and seemed to care a lot about his teams.
