I recently applied for the UI Engineer position at Relyance AI, a role for which I met all the stated qualifications and even exceeded some of them. With over three years of experience, a strong foundation in React, and hands-on expertise in data visualization and user experience principles, I felt that my background was a strong match for the position.
My application was viewed and my resume was downloaded shortly after submission, which I appreciated. Two days later, I received a rejection email stating that the company had decided to move forward with another candidate. While I understand that hiring processes can be highly competitive and involve many factors, the lack of any outreach or interview was a bit unexpected given how well my experience aligned with the role.
Relyance AI describes its culture as data driven and focused on exceeding expectations in every interaction. Although the response was timely and professional, the experience felt fairly standard and transactional. I wish the team the best in finding the right candidate and hope future applicants have the opportunity to engage more directly in the process.
