    Entretien

    After submitting my CV, I was invited to a telephone interview which lasted around 20 minutes, based on my background, suitability, experience. A few days later, I was called to arrange a physical interview which took place at a nearby location. The interview took around 40 minutes and was very focused on capability and suitability.

    Recruiter sent my CV to the company and secured a 1:1 telephone interview (questions re. my CV and my experience). When successful at this I gave a presentation on data sent by the company, for which I presented for 20 minutes on the day and had questions about the powerpoint and my CV etc for about an hour afterwards.

    The interview process was well communicated and involved 3 stages; following my application I was invited to have a telephone interview (around 20 minutes) where I was asked about my interest in the role and relevant experience. I was then invited for a face to face the following week with 2 members of the team where we discussed my background and experience in more detail. I was told more about the role and we had an informal discussion around what I felt I could offer. Shortly after I received a phone call where I was informed that I had been shortlisted for a final interview that would involve a presentation. I had plenty of time to prepare my presentation and the expectations were communicated to me in advance. My final interview was held at the offices and was with 2 managers in the team, lasting around 1 hour. They covered some competency based questions and it was very focused on suitability and new ideas. I was also given an opportunity to ask more about the team and general expectations and my questions were all answered open and honestly. I was then given a quick tour of the office so that I could see the working environment. I was told I would hear back the next working day however was called the same afternoon and offered the position.

    Consulted through third party recruitment advisor who had both enthusiasm and passion about her work. Very good experience form the recruiting agency.
    Went for the interview with SGN representative who's attitude wasn't appropriate i.e lack of energy, went through set questionnaire without explaining about the role. Its seems like we were there to waste each other’s time.
    Feedback was even worst, didn't had experience with in construction industry however I haven't used the word single time on my CV. Pretty frustrating to know.
    Impression was to get the audit box ticked in terms of equal opportunity employer(I doubt it).

    The hiring process was quick and I received excellent instructions for my interview.
    My interview was relevant to the job role and included a presentation, the interviewerwas friendly and considerate. Feedback was provided quickly.

    Interview process was fine, initial competency based interview and followed up with second interview a few weeks later which included a presentation, desktop exercise and more competency based questions. There was also a personality assessment that I had to complete.

    It took 4 weeks to ‘officially’ find out I did not get the job. However, I had resigned myself to a disappointing outcome as the job seemed to have been readvertised on LinkedIn via a recruiter before I had found out if I was successful or not.

    Feedback provided was limited and provided little for me to take forward for future interviews. The feedback was sent in an email from a member of the recruitment team, not from someone who interviewed me which was disappointing. Considering I had used annual leave and funded a hotel visit myself to be available for the interviews, I felt it would have been more courteous to receive the outcome and feedback over the phone from the recruiting manager himself.

    Thank you for taking the time to write this review, and apologies for the experience you had with SGN.

    We are currently working on improving the HR Function at SGN, and as well as looking at recruitment processes, we are also addressing the recruitment culture at SGN. We have identified the need to improve the candidate experience from start to finish, and want potential employees to have a better communicated process whether they are successful or not.

    If you do apply again to SGN in the future, you will hopefully enjoy a better experience.

    I applied online and was alerted to an invitation for an interview around a week later. I was unable to attend the original interview date, however my interviewers where very accommodating to rearrange to a more convenient time.

Several competency based questions where also ask which again related to skills labelled in the job description.
