Glassdoor seriously helped me prepare myself for the interview. Everything mentioned here was asked. I had applied online and received a call from them within 2 weeks.
The interview process was fairly slow. With me there were 3 other people in waiting. The interviewer had 2 sets of 3 pages and he asked me questions like, why i was interested in working for safeway and a situation where i had to go above and beyond. no questions were asked regarding wage. they asked how ive handled difficult customers in the past.
they are basically looking for peppy individuals. Have a smile on ur face. be confident. dress professionally(dont over do it) and prep ur answers in advance.
It went pretty well and i was hired. its been 2 weeks since the interview, background check and final paper work and i still i havent received a scehdule. thats the most annoying part

no difficult question as such. there were questions like
1) what 3 things would you suggest to a customer who buys cake from safeway.
2) Pick one of the products sold at our stores and suggest it to a customer.
Great we had a lot of questions and answers back and forth repeatedly and information back and forth again it was a good conversation. I would want to interview again one at a time and more information would be used

Simple questions and fairly easy. It contains your basic interview questions like why should we hire you and questions like that. They asked about four questions and I got an offer fairly quick.
so easy anyone could pass, very doable questions and even got the offer on the spot. i felt really confident in every single question i answered. the lady was very nice.
