J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé une entrevue à Southwest Airlines en mai 2017.

    Entretien

Phone interview by recruiter was a breeze. Just be honest & be yourself.
Mostly the type of questions you would expect about yourself, your experiences & how you handled certain situations.

Applied in August 2016, didn’t hear anything again (besides a few emails regarding the company) until July 2017. Received a call asking if I was still interested, in which I replied yes! About 2wks later on a Wednesday got an email to fill out background and etc. Same day received call to set up phone interview. Phone interview was the very next Tuesday. Phone interview went great, I felt very comfortable and was just myself. Some of the questions asked were helpful coming from here. The next day I got the call I would be moving onto the next step which was to be flown to Dallas for the f2f interview. It took about 2wks from then to set up my flight and interview time. I had my f2f interview on Monday 10/16. There was 7 of us and we chatted with each other, eased our nerves. We all went into a room to be briefed about the company and etc. Once that was done we were called in individually to interview. My interview lasted about 30min, again I was myself!

We were told it would be up to 2wks to hear something..today (8 days later, but who was counting lol) I got the call and accepted the job offer!! YAY!!

    Good luck!

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé une entrevue à Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX (États-Unis)) en septembre 2017.

I had a phone interview about 3 weeks ago and after the phone interview I got a call the following day saying I made it to the next step and someone would be in touch with me to schedule a face-to-face interview in approximately two to three weeks. I just did my face to face interview today. After signing in I was fingerprinted went in for a group session telling about the company and then we went back out into the waiting area where I conversed with the other applicants of while we waited to be called in for our interview. I was the first to be called in from our group. I was interviewed by two people was very pleasant they were both extremely professional very nice and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The interview lasted almost an hour and after that we stepped out and did the Practical portion where I had to step through an emergency exit door walk down an aisle simulating the airplane aisle and then sit in a jump seat and strap in after that I was finished and was told that I would hear something within 2 weeks.

Applied online. Had my phone interview 3 weeks later which I thought went very well. Received an email today saying I had not been selected for the position. I was planning to decline the position even if it was offered to me after bring told right up front by the recruiter that you are given the worst shifts, including all weekends and holiday for your first year and mandatory overtime of between 10 and 30 hours per week. It is typical to get a call at 2:00AM for mandatory overtime and you have to report to work at 4:00AM. I have no problem working overtime but this requirement would not work for me personally. I have always had an interest in working for Southwest Airlines but I honestly feel that the expectations for this position are not commensurate with the starting salary of $14.18. I was happy to have had the opportunity to at least have a phone interview and may consider applying again in the future for another position.

I applied for the FA position back in August of 2016 and didn’t receive any sort of communication until October of 2017. In October I got a call from a Phoenix area code out of the blue asking if I was still interested in the position. I originally thought it was a scam because I had forgotten that I even applied. I said yes and then didn’t hear anything until about Thanksgiving when they emailed me saying thanks for being patient we’ll get to you as soon as we can. I then received another email at the very end of December asking to set up my phone interview for the beginning of January. I finally had my phone interview on January 8th, 2018. Glassdoor was quintessential in helping to prepare for the phone interview. The recruiter was very nice and asked mostly yes/no questions and a few situational/behavior questions. I received a call the next day saying I would be moving on to the F2F interview and the wait to get it scheduled would be 1-6 weeks. I received an email around the end of January to get my F2F scheduled and chose to have it on the 21st of February. There wasn’t too much information on the F2F interview process on Glassdoor, so I will try to explain as much as I can after having gone through that process. The first thing they have you do is get fingerprinted. There were 7 of us all interviewing for the same position. They brought all seven of us in and had three long-time FAs brief us on the specifics/expectations of the job. After the briefing we were told to wait in the waiting area to be called in individually to interview with one of the three flight attendants and a recruiter from the People Department. While waiting to be called, those of us waiting chatted and talked and even exchanged contact information to be able to check up with each other if we’ve been selected or not after interviews were done. Everyone that I was talking with was very friendly and easy to converse with and we were all rooting for each other and hoping that we all made it. It was a very relaxed and fun environment. I was one of the last people to get called to interview. During the actual interview, the ladies that I interviewed with were AWESOME. It felt like we were old friends chatting and conversing, rather than interviewing for a position. They make you feel very comfortable and have great personalities and try to have fun, laugh, and overall have a good time to make sure it doesn’t really feel like an interview. We went over my resume and they asked about previous jobs/duties, and questions like, “Why do you want to be a FA and what does a FA do?” “Why do you want to work for SW?” etc. The briefing lasted about 30 minutes and the individual interview lasted about 40 minutes. After the interview they make you do a walkthrough of a mock plan in one of the rooms, where you have go through a window without holding/touching, walk down an aisle (two tables spaced together to resemble an aisle), and then buckle yourself in a jumpseat. After that was done, I was free to go and told I would hear something either way in 1-2 weeks tops. Overall, the hiring process was extremely long, but the interview process was very fun and easy. The FA I talked with was amazing and had really great things to say. Looking up questions and other people’s experiences on Glassdoor was EXTREMELY helpful as well as looking up information on the SW website. They told us over 20,000 people applied when they opened application in 2016 and we were some of the last people to be seen, so don’t get discouraged if you haven’t heard anything! No response is not a “no,” It takes time to go through all those applicants. In my interview group, everyone had some form of communication after they applied and I had literally heard nothing until October of 2017, so it’s ok if you don’t hear back for over a year. Hope this information is helpful for anyone else looking to get hired as a FA at SW!! I have not heard anything so as of now I will be putting “no offer.” Hoping that I hear back soon, though!
