Never got to the interview portion but did have a phone call scheduled with senior director to look at job opportunities - never called and then when rescheduled, never called again. Just some advice for spanx, when candidates are coming to you for employment just know that YOU are being interviewed as well on the professionalism that consists within the company. Do better.

It began with an email outreach. Then there was a phone call with one of the recruiters, Then there was a Zoom where it was two interviewers, one who would have been my manager. Then another representative in HR,

The initial interview went great! She was super nice and easy to talk to. Then she gave me some advice regarding the manager who I would be working with and interviewing with next. The manager was the opposite of how she was described. Completely threw me off and was not the best interview experience I had.

Was put through 3 rounds of interview calls. First 2 were conducted by Sr. Hr recruitment, the last round by head of design. I felt unfairly led on, and passively discriminated against given that who they employed for the position had less experience and skills to show for.

Ghosted by Spanx - went through four rounds of interviews in addition to phone screening and never heard anything from them. Was very excited about the position and the company but this turned me off. And it seems I’m definitely not the first to experience this.

I was contacted to interview March 2019. I scheduled an initial phone interview with a recruiter. She stood me up and never called. I reached out to reschedule, and we set up another time. She stood me up and never called, again. I never received an apology or further contact. After that, I saw everything I needed to see about the company and their professionalism. I would never apply to this company again.

The interview process was pretty long. They had me talk to 4 different people at the company. The recruiters also followed up pretty often and held interview prep calls with me. They also usually checked in to see how we thought interviews went and everything. They made me go through the whole interview process which overall probably took about 6 hours and then informed me that they went with someone who applied internally instead. Then offered me to apply to another position I was not interested in.

The interview process took over month, with 3 interviews with the HR recruiter over time, 6 interviews with the team I’d be working with, and a design test that took about 6 hours. Process totaling to about 16 hours towards the interviews and test. I was told many times, “if you have made it to this stage of interviews please know we are not wasting your time and that you are a top candidate”. After my last round of interviews, the team’s timeline continued to be pushed back but they kept reassuring me that I was their top candidate and I would hear next steps soon...for 4 weeks this went on. I noticed the role was posted on job sites again the week after I finished interviews and suspected they were trying to find better candidates. My suspicions were right as they messaged one of my good friends in the same field on linked in asking to connect about the same role I was waiting to hear back on.... Overall, I did love the team and was excited about this role but the longer I was left waiting, the more apparent it became that the process was unorganized. Ultimately, whether I was their top candidate in the end or not, I had lost a level of trust with them team before even discussing an offer and withdrew myself as a candidate. Being told you’re the top candidate while having it be totally obvious that they’re looking for someone better than you doesn’t feel good and I assume that is what the culture is like at Spanx. The interview process is highly rigorous for a position of this stature and I feel it’s unnecessary to put candidates through this intense of a process and make them believe it’s going to result in an offer if you do not see potential in them to fill your role. Do not set false expectations and do not say you are being transparent if you are not.
