I had an amazing conversation with an initial recruiter, who quickly connected me with the hiring manager. They spoke about having multiple positions open and how my experience would likely fit one role if it didn't fit another. I was hopeful about a future with the company. The next round was a series of interviews with peers. This is where things got weird. One was late for the interview, multitasked and texted while on-camera, and then interrupted me and left the call early. She tried to make a joke about this, but it came across as crass and unprofessional. I thought the other meetings went well, but then I never heard another word from Synchrony. Weeks of silence later, I received a generic form email with no feedback of any kind. This was surprising after the amount of time I spent speaking with five members of the team. Very demoralizing, especially after things seemed to be moving along so quickly and smoothly. Synchrony prides itself on being a great place to work. It is not, however, a great place to interview.
